Do You See A Punch Coming?

It would be easy to defend against any attack if you know what is coming. The attacker or your opponent will not let you know his next move. And if you do not see what is coming in time, you might not be able to defend against that strike although you know how to block.

When you learn any block or parry for the first time, you practice that on your own. After getting it right, you practice that with a training partner. Then you know how that parry or block is used in a fight.

In case you fight with someone and you know his favorite combination of throwing punch, you can guess what is coming next. As a result, you can block that to defend yourself. You can recognize the pattern studying your opponent.

When you have a fight in the fighting competition, that helps you to make your move effectively. The attacker on the street is not a professional fighter or a random aggressive guy is not trained to throw a punch. You will not find that familiar pattern that you see fighting with a professional fighter.

How to defend against punch in a fight.jpg

It would be a huge mistake if you underestimate the attacker on the street. He can throw punches to hurt you pretty bad. You should pay attention to how the attacker stands. You can sense how he is going to throw a punch or which hand he is going to use to punch.

As a defense, how you stand and position yourself can make a big difference. If you stand in front of the attacker in a straight line, it will be easy for the attacker to hit you. Instead, you can stand to the side. If the attacker moves and changes his position, you can also move and adjust.

When someone throw a punch, you can see the movement on his shoulder. Noticing the slight movement on the shoulder, you can see the punch coming. Now you can parry or block to defend against the punch. There is no alternative to sparring and practicing with your training partner.

The more you practice, the better. It will help you notice the little change of your opponent's move, and you will be a better position to defend and counter-attack.

Practice makes perfect, the more you train the easier it will be to block or dodge an attack, however, in the street it is not the same, it is best to always be prepared or even avoid the conflict.

Exactly, however, you must have experience or practice, because it will not be easy to determine where a false move will come from and you will be in trouble.

Yes, how the attacker stands and moves give an indication how he is going to attack you. Sometimes you see that the attacker makes a little distance so that he can throw a punch.

Absolutely. When you fight in a controlled environment, that ensures your safety or the chance of getting injured is low. In a street fight, it is totally different.

Some good info here, it's the shoulders not the eyes. If someone tells you to watch the eyes to see what your opponent is going to do next, best pack your bags and leave that place!

Your opponent can look somewhere and strike somewhere else. He can trick you and when you realize that, it is too late.
