High Point Rockers vs Southern Maryland Blue Crabs - July 23rd - 25th Highlights
The rockers played against the blue crabs this weekend and able to win the series 2 and 1.
Friday game 1 the rocker came off with a good start with two home runs. Johnny Fields and Mike Russel get a home run in the 1st inning. Cardullo with an RBI in the 5th. Jerry down and Stewart Levy with an RBI in the 7th giving the rockers 5. Baca gets 2 runs in the 7th allowing the blue crabs to get some runs on the board. In the 8th David Harris gets a home run. Alex Crosby gets hit by a pitch in the 9th with bases loaded giving the blue crabs another run on the board but wasn't enough to win the game. Rockers win it 5 -4
Saturday game 2 rockers not doing well. Rubi Silva gets a 2 run homer in the 3rd. Michael baca at bat and manages to get a man at home. Cesar Trejo a former rocker is out at home resulting in the inning to be over. That locks in 3 for the blue crabs. In 5th inning Giovani gets yet another RBI. Later a Passed ball with bases loaded and Randy Norris scores making it 2 for the rocker resulting in a loss with the final score 2 -3.
Game 3 on Sunday afternoon the rockers come out strong! Jerry downs with an RBI with 2 scoring. Stewart Levy grounds out but still gets a score in that play. Giovani gets a home run. This is all only in the 1st inning. Top of the 3rd Randy Norris and Jared Mitcher but get an RBI with 3 more runs. Bottom of the 3rd Rubi Silva with an RBI getting one on the board for the blue crabs. 5th inning Silva is at bat again and gets a sacrifice out but manages to get someone home. Giovani with another RBI in the 8th giving the rockers one more on the board for the win 8-2
The rockers are now 27 and 26 in the series. The Blue crabs are now 26 and 26. The rocker made it home around 11pm sunday evening to rest up for their day off monday and then off to Gastonia for 3 games. Later the week they come home to go against West Virginia. Makes me wonder if former Rocker Max Povse will be pitching against his former team this coming weekend. I may be able to talk to him personally and see how he's been doing for the past 2 weeks with his new team.
