Lexington Legend vs High Point Rockers - July 16th Highlights

Lexington Legends took on the High Point Rockers at Truist Field for game 1 of 3 for the weekend. The rockers were able to get a win over the legends by winning 5 - 7.

The legends were able to get a few runs in on the last inning when it started with a BAWK when bases were loaded. The way i saw it the pitcher was only looking down like all pitchers do but the batter saw him do something and the umpire called a BAWK. Jamie Keefe came out of the dugout to yell at the umpire and the umpire threw him out of the game. Jamie didn't see him do the throw out signal and walked back out to shout at him some more. In the meantime the pitcher Preston Gainey is standing there confused talking to the umpire from 2nd base. I am unsure what really happened. I was able to talk to #33 Joe Hennessey who is a pitcher of the rockers after the game and he is unsure of what happened as well. There are times when it's an obvious BAWK but he didn't do anything! The legends were able to get a free score because of it and then later got 2 more runners in. They managed to get bases loaded again but Preston managed to strike the rest of the batters out. It was a close game for sure!

The rockers are to play them again Saturday night starting at 7pm. Lets see if the Rockers can pull in another win against the #1 team in the league. I will update you all if I can get word from Preston. It will not change the outcome of the game but at least i can get a better understanding of what went on.
