Who had covid today in sports!?!

Everyone, or at least that is what they would like to have us believe with the sports media jumping on the doom and gloom bandwagon with every word they type. They ran out of racism pieces to write i suppose and since there aren't very many actual sports going on the stupid media has to do something I guess.

For one thing the entire Oklahoma Football team tested positive for the virus that if left unchecked would manage to kill exactly zero of them (maybe the kickers) and the rest of the team might have a runny nose or sneeze a few times on a Tuesday but we need to shut down all of Oklahoma and not just the football side of it, just to make sure that the extra weight of the covid sniffles doesn't turn the state into a giant sinkhole that swallows up the rest of the country. Only 14 of them tested positive, and this is not as shocking at the

I certainly hope that most sports fans out there are smart enough (which is doubtful) to understand that there is not a crazy wave of covid emerging in the world. I have no proof of this but the pieces do kind of fall in place. Athletes, in a race to get sports back up and running, are being testing at significantly higher rates than the general public. Since most of us have had the same social patterns as these guys have had in the past 3 months, it is easy to come to the conclusion that all of us have Covid in the exact same very high rate.

There is still some medical question as to whether or not the test is even accurate as well. I am not going to get into that but there have been some controversies about the effectivity of the test in the first place. Then there is the question of whether the people were showing symptoms or not and the answer to that is easy to describe because NONE of them were. All of the 14 players were surprised to get a positive result because none of them felt even remotely sick.

Already in Orlando's "safe zone" bubble, 6 members of the Dallas MLS team tested positive as well. It is worth noting that I wasn't even aware that MLS teams were participating in the controlled sports experiment in Florida and neither did 99% of the other people who live in USA because nobody cares. MLS stands for "Major League Soccer" but it may as well stand for "most loathed sport."

My same opinion about the importance of these positive results is true here even though I would have watched just as many MLS games in the Orlando controlled environment as I watched when they were playing in their own stadiums back in their home cities: Zero. However, there is no rise in cases and despite the doom and gloom spin the media is trying to put on this these cases are only discovered because we are looking for them, not because the case rate is growing. You can mark my words, none of these athletes are going to fall ill, they will not need a respirator, they will probably just hang out in a room and play video games for 14 days and wonder what the hell sort of stupid as virus necessitates taking you away from society when it is so mild that you don't even know that you have it.

Virtually every sports team, college or professional, in the United States has reported at least one member of their squad testing positive for Covid and I would bet my bottom dollar that if the same level of testing were applied to any other sports team in the entire world outside of remote island teams that nobody would know about anyway, the result would be the same.

If we are waiting for a time period where nobody tests positive for a virus with over a 99% survival rate (especially among the young and fit) we are never going to be able to open back up and watch sports other than UFC ever again.

It's time to put some sort of cap on this madness.

thanks for the update although it only kind of makes me mad. I only have a couple of "stay home, stay safe" friends left (not because I eliminated friends but because they had a change of heart) and they are all in super liberal cities like NYC or LA. Everyone else is sick of this shit and would rather take their chances at getting the Rona. I would imagine college athletes probably feel the same.
