Sloppy Arsenal paid the price

Arsenal welcomed Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium in a contest to keep up with others on the top half of the EPL log.

Arsenal who were undoubtedly outstanding in their last match against Manchester United were tipped to have a great game against in-form Aston Villa.

The matchup started on a rush with both sides on their toes but Aston Villa were just too determined to land the first dent on Arsenal and their wish was granted but was ruled out for offside.

Sooner than later in the 25th minute, Aston Villa took the lead courtesy of an own goal by Saka.

Arsenal tried to get back into the game but all efforts weren't fruitful till the end of the first half.

Right into the second half, Arsenal made a change by bringing in Ceballos for Partey who was reported to have picked up an injury after the first half.

Change in formation and approach made things went from bad to worse for Arsenal as weak spots were spotted and exploited by Aston Villa to give Aston Villa additional 2 more goals lead through Watkins who was on target on the 72nd and 75th minutes.

The game ended 0 - 3 and Aston Villa travelled back home with all 3 points.
