As a Chelsea fan, the champions league match between Real Madrid vs Chelsea was not a one with the happy endings. Hello everyone, Yes I know, I know, this is not photography or about books, but I have a lot of interest. Soccer is one of them. When I am not reading, sleeping, shooting with my camera, I am watching football. Yesterdays football match was very entertaining, and I sure am glad that I saw it. I was earlier planing on doing a player by player rating but I think would do that for today's Champions league match between Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City.

What a match it was. It was an absolute cracker; end to end it flew by. I wasn't expecting a high scoring to be honest, both teams have a sturdy defence, Chelsea keeping 17 clean sheets all season, while Real Madrid has 15. Nevertheless, it was entertaining.

FIRST HALF

The first half was just simply beautiful. End to end attack. Each teams with different chances to score, eventually settling for one goal apiece, the match ending that way. Chelsea had the best chances of the first half and possibly of the entire game. The first twenty five or so minute was utter dominance from the blues, creating numerous chances with four shots, and three of them on target, with a well worked goal to show for it. Christian Pulisic who was brilliant all through his participation in the match, and eventually scoring the goal, with a fine long range pass by Toni Rudiger. I feared the numerous chances we had would come back to hunt us. Afterwards, it become evenly balanced with Real Madrid enjoying more of the ball. They capitalized on a fine back post cross by Marcelo, which was headed back in by Raphaël Varane, and met Eder Militao, and finally a thumping volley from close range by the main man Karim Benzema. Most of Chelsea's chances through out the match was squandered by Timo Werner who was not involved in the game by any stretch of the Imagination. His worse miss was a close range chance, provided by Christian Pulisic, which he hit straight at the keeper.

SECOND HALF

The second was very much balanced, but with the scale tipping slightly to Real Madrid's favour. Vinicious Junior was very much involved in the game, but azpilicueta struggled to cope with it. The second half saw the introduction of Kai Havertz for Timo Werner, Reece James for Ceasar Azpilicueta and Hakim Ziyech. Eden Hazard against his old club coming in for Vinicius Junior. None of them impacted the game too significantly. Noteworthy performance includes that of Eder Militao who was rock Solid at the back and rewarded with an assist. Likewise Toni Rudiger. Pipe down, I didn't forget. I saved the best for the last. Xd.

NGOLO KANTE

An absolute colossus. Making his presence felt all over the pitch. Ngolo Kante was doing Kante things, earning him a well deserved man of the match award. Different players showering the Chelsea Midfielder praises.

N'Golo Kanté contested more duels (21) and completed more take-ons (6) than any other player on the pitch during Real Madrid 1-1 Chelsea.

CONCLUSION

And alround entertaining match that'd kept me at the edge of my seat. Now we look forward to the second leg on the fifth of May. So what do you think? Tell me what you thought of the match.
