Yes, it's been difficult to really stage engaged with a Bundesliga match for 90mins. A lack of fans equals a lack of atmosphere equals a lack of intensity. I don't think any quality of play can really make up for that absence of intensity.

There seem to have been a few novel ideas about how to overcome that from large digital screens at grounds, to broadcasters providing fan noise and even drive through fan events. Let's see what the EPL can come up with! If nothing else, the end to this season should provide a testing ground (no pun intended) for what measures they can bring in for next season when in all likelihood many of the current measures will still be in place.
