Building your team from scratch: What coaches passes through
When it comes to soccer there is every tendency that a time will come when a team that is doing well will need restructuring. If you are a coach and you haven't groom your own team but you have been winning trophies, it shows that you have been enjoying the team built by another person. I remember vividly how it use to be in Real Madrid, you will see the team sacking their coaches but they will still keep winning trophies, this is because the team has not attain menopause.
I remembered when I was growing up and I was now supporting clubs, what I use to say is that I don't think there is any way team like Real Madrid, Barcelona fc, Liverpool fc, Arsenal fc, Manchester United, Manchester city, Paris Saint German, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and host of other big name team will one day have problem with their team, I don't know I was just kidding.
Team that is not doing well today can start doing well tomorrow. Those little team that we are calling little today can bounce back and become the talk of the town. This is simply because your team that is doing well today can face the squad issues and they will start struggling. When they are passing through this reformation stage you will see them loosing enough point that could give them the trophy. If any team is managing to be performing well being small team or not, that team will be the one to win the league trophy if care is not taken.
For those coaches who manage to win trophies with the team they met, they really tried. Real Madrid is a big example, I know how many coaches will go there and win trophies without making any signings but take a look at things now, since they are now caught up with the restructuring, things has been different. Zenidine Zidane went back to the team and he knows that it won't be easy he bow down back stating some reasons lol.
When it comes to the stage that your team need rebuilding, don't allow any body to deceive you, it is not always that easy expecially if your team is not a big team, you will have to do with what you have at hand thereby leaving you to go for players that are not worth it. Those team that have money is still good, they can easily release money for the team and is now left for the coach to do with the money he has by signing players he thinks will be good addition to his squad but if you don't have such back up you will start using mostly academic players and this might slow down how you and your team might progress.
Building team from scratch is not easy at all but all team will at least passes through this stage. Take a look at Liverpool fc, they were the first that fall into this category, they use to be one of the best team in Europe but when issues set in, they started struggling to get good performance. Different coach keeps coming but they were unable to restructure the team not until Jurgen Klopp came and the team is now back claiming it glory. They were able to bounce back fastly because of fund that is available. I know how many team will keep restructuring for years because of the money involved.
There is every tendency that all team will face this issue someday and when it comes how far will you stay in the dip before you bounces back. This is the main issue. After Liverpool fc faces such issues, Real Madrid experiences it, Manchester United, Chelsea fc and others battled through this transformation stage. Less I forgot, same thing is what Arsenal fc are battling with and up till now they are not still out of the loop. This is indirectly telling us that it is not easy at all to build team from scratch and started using it to achieve result instantly. Everything boils down to hard work, time and effort.
If you see a coach building his/her team from the scratch you as a fan have to understand that this stage takes alot of hard work, if deep along the line the coach has not started getting reward, you should understand and keep the hope alive, sooner or later things will be fine. Fans are the worst to talk into believing the coaches at this point in time because they all wants to see that their team are all winning trophies. If they notice that their team is battling to attain that, they will keep complaining and some that are not patrotic will just decamp to another team doing well.
With all this headache, we should try and understand that building a team is not easy at all, understanding, focus and dedication is much needed.
