Despite injuries, Liverpool fc still manage to defeat Ajax Amsterdam

I wanted to post yesterday but must confess that I was really carried away by activities. I was really occupied by lots of activities so I pledge to engage those that missed out on what really happened in the Uefa Champions league yesterday.

One team I am really concerned about is Liverpool fc. This season has been one of a hell for them so far. The ride has been rough and Jurgen Klopp have gotten lots of players to settle. Almost half of the players have been affected by one injury or the other while some were affected by the corona virus outbreak. At this stage, Jurgen Klopp will be without some star players for almost the entire season and Van Dijk have been off for long with almost all the defenders conceedimg one injury or the other.

I ran into their line up and was disappointed. Jurgen Klopp is truly passing through alot. We have Caoimhin Kelleher in goal instead of Allison Bercker or Adrian. This really got me scared. James Milner was out with injury again, so discouraging.

In the absent of James Milner, Fabinho, Andrew Robertson, Joel Matip and Neco Williams paired in the defence. Diving to the midfield, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones paired in the midfield. The attack saw Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Diogo Jota pairing. This was not the best line up for Liverpool fc but we got no choice. Funny enough the fixture was against Ajax fc. We all know how good this team is, conquering them with this squad will be hard. I was really scared.

While watching the match, I was also checking on the match between Atalanta and Midtjylland. I was surprised to see that Midtjylland was ahead at first before Atalanta equalised. I was writing Midtjylland off because I see them not qualifying base on their point and their form. They gave Liverpool fc hope as the draw gave Liverpool the avenue to maintain their first position on the log table. At this point, I knew the match is not over yet, but I will be happy to see my team winning Ajax winning and Atalanta securing draw. That will give us 4 point.

Ajax fc were looking for all possible means to secure a win or a draw in other for them to have a hope of coming out second in the group. A draw will take them to same point with Atalanta while a win will take them above Atalanata fc. Liverpool fc won't want that to happen as they are fighting to secure their own slot too. They want to cement their top spot.

The last minute was hell as each team were playing in a way to get the result they needed. As at this stage, I was now really afraid, the pressure were pilling up but Jurgen Klopp decided to substitute Mohammed Salah and introduce Rhys Williams. This was just a strategy to give the team a resting time and also feed in a player that will help the defence composed. It was a nice substituting indeed. I just had to stay glue to my tv right at this moment, just waiting for the final whistle and indeed after few minutes of added time, the match finally ended. , What a match and a win for Liverpool fc. Thanks to Curtis Jones for that amazing goal that seal the victory for Liverpool fc. This ha qualified us as group D winners. I am really blown away by this. Despite the poor team, we still get Ajax defeated.
