Jurgen Klopp and his Coaching Quality

Liverpool FC was only a regular team in the English Premier League in particular until the arrival of Jurgen Klopp. Record and history has it that Liverpool won 18 league titles but for over 30 years, ever since the name change from League Title to Barclays/ English Premier League, the REDS haven't lifted the trophy. In the days of Brendan Rodgers and the final season of Stephen Gerard, Liverpool came so close to winning the EPL but it was so unfortunate that Chelsea and Crystal Palace denied Liverpool from being the Champions in 2017.

Staying for such a long time without an EPL trophy was such a big blow to the club and fans as well. However, things began turning around for the Merseyside Reds as Jurgen Klopp stepped in following his departure from Borussia Dortmund in October 2015. In a space of six years, he has been able to make Liverpool FC a very strong and competitive side once again. In his first year as Liverpool coach, he led the Reds to the UEFA Europa League final in 2015/16 and then took them to the UEFA Champions League final in the next year 2017/18, although both matches ended in defeat. Klopp was back in the Champions League final the following season, however, and this time guided his side to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

So far, under his reign, Liverpool FC won their first EPL trophy after 30 years of drought in a grand style. Also, the club won their sixth Champions League trophy, won the FIFA Club World Cup and Super Cup. Such a great achievement by Jurgen Klopp.

This then shows that it is largely the coaching factor that determines the performance and success of any football team. When the coach is not so good in carrying out his obligations then the team will suffer. Some coaches are really poor at player's scouting and signing while some are poor in player's selection and utilization. In all these areas, Jurgen Klopp has proven to be King. I'm just wishing he gets to stay at the club longer because he's good at his work and with him, Liverpool can do more exploits.

Below is Jurgen Klopp's Premier League records: 203 matches so far, 129 wins and 434 goals. Impressive!

I've been really wowed by the Liverpool boss this season, particular this period the club is being hit by critical injury problems. How he has been able to manage the available players to interchanging the position of some shows a level of class. As a fan, I was really wondering how the team was going to cope with a complete backline but Klopp has been able to manage the available players to till be a contender in the EPl this season.

First, it was Virgil who was sidelined then Joe Gomez. Weeks later, Fabinho and Matip Joined the injury list and these are the club's first choice defenders. It is in times like this one gets to see the quality of a coach; they're are some coaches that would not have been able to deal with such problem. Right now, he has converted Jordan Henderson to a center back and he's been performing very well. Although the backline is not so solid, they have been holding up well enough. Liverpool have conceding a lot of goals ever since these defensive injury problems so such that Allison Becker rarely keeps a clean shit.

On the other hand, this Liverpool's present condition shows some flaws in Jurgen Klopp's management. It is important to always have a good replacement for every first time player. A coach should not depend sorely on one person; what happens when he's injured like van DIJK and Joe Gomez is? Remember, Fabinho and Matip are midfielders and not even defenders; they were only being adopted as contingency plans. Sadly, the January transfer window is closed but Klopp hasn't signed any center back. Jurgen Klopp really has to look into this issue of substitutes.

Away from that, it is no longer news that Liverpool are back to winning ways after multiple matches without a win. Firstly, they won Tottenham Hotspur and then had victory against West Ham. Currently, they're only three points away from the top spot. Manchester City should be worried because Liverpool would turn out to be a serious threat.
