Liverpool IN, RB Leipzig OUT

Finally, there was light at the end of the tunnel for the Reds and this also brings a glimpse of hope for Jurgen Klopp, the team and the fans. Can Liverpool FC end this season with at least a Silverware? Well, just as Jurgen Klopp said, it is still too early to talk of winning the Champions League this season. It was a memorable night at Budapest for Liverpool, for the second time.

Two weeks ago, Liverpool won RB Leipzig during the first-leg encounter with a scoreline of 2-0. And both goals were being by Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane. It is a very crucial win which gave them an added advantage in the second-leg encounter on March, 10. Liverpool went into the game in a bad state as they have lost six games at Anfield consecutively in the English Premier League.

As a fan, I didn't really know what to expect from them but I just had the confidence that they will scale through and of course the did. The starting line-up for Liverpool looked like this:

Allison Becker
Fabinho
Nathaneal Phillips
Trent-Alexander Arnold
Andy Robertson
Thiago Alcantara
Georginio Wijnaldum
Curtis Jones
Mohammed Salah
Sadio Mane
Diogo Jota

I expected a tough game as RB Leipzig have shown good form and consistency of late in their domestic league. Sadly, I didn't watch the game live due to the failure of DSTV SuperSport channel in showing the game. Because of this, I won't really have much to say about the game. My happiness is that Liverpool won and it is a really big win; they needed to win judging from the fact that they are out in other competitions.

They match ended goalless at half-time but the second-half saw Liverpool netting twice to send the German side back home. The first goal came from Mohammed Salah in the 71st minute of the game while Sadio Mane scored the second three minutes later. It was more like a repeat of the first-leg; same scoreline and same scorers. I'm really happy for the boys and I hope they qualify in the next round.

We are yet to know who Liverpool will be meeting in the Champions League quarter-finals but whoever it is, I believe they will give it much of a fight. The draws will be done on March 19 so, let's keep our fingers crossed.
