UCL: All-round Victory for Liverpool in the Group Stage First-leg

Are Liverpool FC getting in form again? I think so. Liverpool had a somewhat bad start in this season's football campaign. Though they have had just one loss so far, they have been a bit shaky coupled with some critical injury cases in the squad. However, things seem to be getting back to normal in the team. Everyone seem to be building up momentum.

Liverpool are currently topping the table in the English Premier League with 17 points having won their last game against WestHam United by two goals to nil. WestHam got an early lead but Liverpool came from behind to grab all three points. This also increased their home win record.

Back to the Champions League, Liverpool FC have won all three First-leg games comfortably. By this, they are leading in the group D table with 9 points. I can boldly say that they have already qualified for the round of 16 stage. In their first game, Liverpool FC won Ajax with one nil scoreline. In th second game, they won Midtylland with two goals and against Atlanta, they massacred the Italian side with five unreplied goals.

How both teams starting eleven line up looked like:

Atalanta XI: Sportiello; Toloi, Palomino, Djimsiti; Hateboer, Pasalic, Freuler, Mojica; Papu Gómez; Muriel, Zapata.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Williams, Robertson; Henderson, Jones, Wijnaldum; Diogo Jota, Salah, Mané.

In-form Diogo Jota happened to score a hat-trick in the third game which was against Atlanta. Also, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane wrote their names on the score sheet as well. Jota appears to be a threat to Firmino because we have seen the Boss preferring to have him in the starting eleven and he deserves it.

I'm so happy for the boys and I hope they continue in the winning way. Also, I hope Virgil van Dijk recovers soon as well as Fabinho. The absence of the duo have given both Williams and Phillips an opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp and they both have done well so far.

Also, Joe Gomez appear to be controlling the back line very well with help from the two wingers Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson. Truth is that there has been a lot of changes in the Liverpool FC squad but they are still performing well in all competitions. I hope they win the Champions League yet another time.

Liverpool FC have won the Champions League for 6 times and I will not be surprised seeing them lift the trophy again although they don't look like the favourite this year. Should they improve and build more momentum then, they will be unstoppable. As a Liverpool FC fan, the sides I'm sure would give Liverpool tough time is the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich have been very deadly of late. Last year, they played unbeaten to lift the trophy and even thrashed Barcelona mercilessly. It was funny though. However, Liverpool FC versus Bayern Munich would be an interesting game every football lover would love to watch.

What do you think?
