Alisson Becker scored in the 95th minute against WBA - Who is he? Liverpool's goalkeeper!

I just have to smile... to be honest, it is just so cool! You know, we have seen it many time in football games before. One of the teams really need a goal, and it doesn't really matter much if the other team should score or not. If they don't get their needed goal, then nothing else matters.

As a result, even the goalkeeper joins in the finale minutes of a match, and often joins in on free kicks and corners in the last minutes of a match. And that is what happened today in the match between West Bromwich and Liverpool.

After 95 minutes, the standing of the match was still 1-1, and if Liverpool should have any chance at all to get to the Champions League next year, they would have to win this match. So, when they received a corner kick in the 95th minute, even their Brasilian keeper Alisson becker ran to the top of the field in order to join in on the fun. And guess what? It became an incredible moment!

I have included two videos here, as they often are removed from YouTube due to copyright issues. So, hurry up and watch them if they are still working by the time you check this article.

Have you seen it? And it is quite a cool goal, not only because it gave Liverpool the victory, but because it is a high-quality goal that actually required quite some skills when it comes to heading the ball. I believe most attackers would be happy if they would manage to finish of with such a header, so when a goalkeeper comes up and does something like that, it is just super cool and amazing.

Another cool keeper

I remember, back in the days, when Paraguay had a keeper named Chilavert. He was actually a part of the free-kick strategy of the country. So, if Paraguay would have a free-kick in a dangerous situation, the keeper would actually come to shoot the ball. It even happened during the World Cup in football in 1998, as you can see in this video.

And of course, we must never forget Higuita. He didn't score a goal, but he made one of the most spectacular saves ever made in football history. And it was in an international game between England and Colombia. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it right now, and then, watch it over and over and over and over and over again!

What is the conclusion?

Football is a fantastic sport... you never get bored watching it because there are always amazing things happening on the field!

There is something magical about the keeper saving the day like this. It's real Roy of the Rovers stuff! What a header it was too, perfectly glanced beyond the keeper.
