Just can't wait to see the Champions League quarter-finals!

We have some interesting matches in the Champions League earlier this week, but they are nothing compared to what we can look forward to in the Champions League quarter-finals. Unfortunately, those matches are still a few weeks ahead of us, but at least we have something to look forward to while living in quarantines, isolation, and working from home!

But, what will the Champions League quarter-finals be like this year? Just take a look at this list of matches:

Champions League quarter-finals in 2021

  • Manchester City - Borussia Dortmund
  • Porto - Chelsea
  • Bayern Munchen - Paris Saint Germain
  • Real Madrid - Liverpool

I would say that 3 out of 4 matches are incredibly interesting, and the match between Bayern Munchen and Paris Saint Germain is just splendid (actually this was the very final in the same tournament last year). So, it isn't strange at all that I am excited about these matches.

Manchester City led by Guardiola will for sure win the Premier League this year, and except for their loss against Manchester United recently, they have seemed to be unbeatable lately. Borussia Dortmund hasn't impressed much in Germany, nor in Europe, but Erling Braut Haaland is capable of beating an opponent all by himself. Of course, many people have said that without him, BVB would be a failure this year. Who knows? But, I am sure that Guardiola will do his best to stop Erling Haaland.

Porto impressed a lot by beating Juventus, and Chelsea did great against Atletico Madrid. In other words, two outsiders will play here, and anything can happen. This will most likely be the match I have little trouble not watching, but still an interesting match.

Real Madrid vs. Liverpool is another awesome match. Neither of the teams has been very good this year, but the Champions League is a different story. I do keep Real Madrid as favorites ahead of the match, but I think I will cheer for Liverpool, simply because I am bored with Real Madrid being led by Zidane.

The highlight - Bayern München against PSG

But, most people will agree that the highlight is the match between Bayern München and PSG. I am not a fan of any of the teams, but I will for sure cheer for the French team, because I am a bit bored by the fact that Bayern München is too good, especially when Robert Lewandovski has scored 35 goals so far in the German Bundesliga this year, and he is most likely to beat the record of Thomas Muller (who scored 40 goals in one season). He will also be the first player to be the top scorer of the German Bundesliga four seasons in a row.

But, can Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Keylor Navas, and the rest of the guys playing for PSG stop Bayern München? I do hope so, but I am not at all convinced about that fact!

What do you think?

The semi-finals...

The winner of the match between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund will play against the winner of the match between PSG and Bayern München, while the winner of the Porto - Chelsea match will play against the winner of the Real Madrid against Liverpool match.

Are you ready for some fun? Which team do you believe will win the Champions League in 2021? I keep Bayern München as my favorites, but I do hope that PSG or Borussia Dortmund will win!

Being from the US I am very slowly trying to develop an appreciation for the "other" brand of football. lol This looks like the perfect opportunity. I can take a month to do some research on these teams and come up with a favorite. That might give me some incentive to watch. Thanks for the write up!

Something strange... if you watch anything enough and understand it, it will most likely turn more and more interesting. So, if you give soccer a chance and watch some matches, read about it, and so... I believe you will fall in love with the sport quite soon!

Wait, Chelsea is up against Porto? Well that can't be good. Chelsea has always been at the struggling angle when it comes to Porto and PSG, I hope they can pull this one through.

Chelsea is always struggling when it comes to quarter-finals and semi-finals... But I hope they will manage to beat Porto. They will anyway lose against Real Madrid or Liverpool in the semi-final!

Well as I watched many matches for Manchester City I think either them or Bayern will win the champions league, I'm really excited to watch those matches and especially the ones for those 2 teams.

Curious about Manchester City... they haven't succeeded in the Champions League, but they might this year! But, first they will have to stop Haaland!

Chelsea might get to the finals,I mean tuchel has been managing the club well ,I don't expect anything less than a win from Chelsea, but I still want Manchester city to win the champions league title, to mark the first time in the club's history.

Tuchel has for sure had a great effect on Chelsea, so it would be cool to see him bring the team to victory, but I doub't that they will have a chance against the very best teams!

Real Madrid and Liverpool are facing tough times this season, and so I don't think it would be hard for Chelsea to knockout any of the two teams,I see Chelsea going through to the finals together with Manchester City .
