The First Seeded Los Angeles Lakers dispatched the 8th seeded Portland Trail Blazers with a 131-122 win. The Lakers will be awaiting the winner of the Houston and Oklahoma City series in the second round.

Anthony Davis led the scoring for the Lakers scoring 43 points, adding 9 rebounds and 4 assists. LeBron James also dazzled with his all around play with a triple double scoring 36 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

For the Trail Blazers CJ McCollum led the way with 36 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, followed by Carmelo Anthony with 27 point and 7 rebounds. Damian Lillard was ruled out for Portland after sustaining a knee injury, which further dampened the hopes of Portland to extend the series.

Opinions

Our predictions from this post were on point, as the Lakers were able to close it out in 5. This would have been a hell of a series in my opinion, Portland were missing some core and key players due to unlucky injuries. Massive respect and props to Portland and especially to Damian Lillard going on that epic run to clinch the 8th seed after the restart, they showed massive heart. Hopefully next season they wont be unlucky with injuries.

What were your thoughts on the series? With the loss of Portland, have we seen the last game of Carmelo Anthony in the NBA? Let's discuss on the comment section below.
