12K, almost there [Running Community Report, October 29th 2020]

This evening I went on a solo run. At night again and on asphalt. At first, I intended to run some hills. Yet, I changed my mind and went almost all the way on flat terrain. It was just the last kilometer that I added a climb to get a more effective distance for the UTMB challenge that I want to end tomorrow.

I have 6% to cover, almost there. It's 13.2 effective kilometers. Easily done tomorrow in the afternoon.

With the run, I've drawn this strange animal on the map. Is it a stampeding cow?

On the graph below three metrics are displayed. pace, running power, and heart rate. You can see that running power correlates to pace much better than the heart rate. That's why it's a much better metric to gauge your effort.

Two more days until October ends. What will your monthly mileage be? Mine will be short. I'll barely climb over 200 K.

All the physical activity data that I display in my @exhaust and @actifit reports is gathered with the help of Coros Pace sports watch and displayed with Coros app.

Better and better

I may get 120km for the month, which I am happy enough with. A year ago it would be more like 100km. We each have our own goals and I don't feel any need to compete. Trying to keep up with you might kill me :)

That's you on the left of course.

You are doing great and making constant progress.

No, it wouldn't kill you :) Two miles daily is just 108 kilometers on an average month. So you are already there. An occasional longer run and you are at 150K without a fuss :)

Now, keeping up with @argon or @jgrieco ... that's another story :) These guys are monsters when it comes to eating kilometers for breakfast!

I ought to try running every day for a while again, but should not be too ambitious with the distance. There is some guy I have seen on Strava who does 3 runs each day clocking up 1000km/month! That is crazy.

I am happy enough with the amount of running I do for now.
