Blast from the past - 1993 Network Q RAC Rally

Hi, friends!

British event of the World Rally Championship used to be very popular in that country because they had reports of even three million people watching the event through five or six days which is the length of the WRC rallies back in a days.

I must admit that this was a first rally that my friend recorded for me on his VHS recorder and the TV was called ScreenSport which is today Eurosport. I was really crazy about rallying. Six months earlier I saw Ford Escort RS Cosworth group A alive on special stage and I was crazy. So my love for rallying is probably from those days.

Colin McRae was leading this 1993 Network Q RAC Rally for some time but the hole in his radiator made a damage in his engine because he was driving without cooling for more then 15km and that destroyed the engine.

That year World Rally champion Juha Kankkunen took the lead and won the rally in his Toyota Celica Group A which was legendary car in that time.

It is interesting to see Malcolm Wilson, owner of M-Sport Ford team right now who finished 3rd overall in his privately run Ford Escort RS Cosworth. He used to be a works driver back in a days so nothing new that he is still in the sport but in a different role.

Please enjoy in this piece of history... :)

Hard to find that car in good condition. Especially Carlos Sainz edition.
