Blast from the past - Carlos Sainz sr and Luis Moya
Hi, friends!
You probably heard for Ferrari F1 driver Carlos Sainz jr who is now very popular name, just as every other Ferrari Formula 1 driver is and was.
But there is another legend with the same name but in various type of motorsport - in World Rally Championship, and that was Sainz sr, father of the mentioned F1 star.
He and his long term co-driver Luis Moya won 25 WRC rallies together and they were one of the most successful pairs for a long time in history of rallying.
Moya decided to stop with co-driving after their stint with Ford and after Sainz sr got signed by Citroen, but as a driver with backing. I guess that it was enough for Moya because he didn't want to risk his life for peanuts.
Sainz sr continued for three more seasons with different co-driver (Marc Marti) but with only two events in his last season in 2005 (Rally de Portugal, Acropolis Rally Greece).
Both, Carlos Sainz sr and Luis Moya, had really great careers and we can inly thank them for everything they did for the sport of rallying.

Amazing to listen to the co driver and very impressive driving by Sainz.
I probably would go sick quite soon on the co-drivers seat.
Hahaha. I agree that being a co-driver is not easy. I tried it once and we crashed out and it was with my side. But being a co-driver means being very brave.
