First video of M-Sport Ford 2022 WRC prototype

Hi, friends!

It is still unknown which basic Ford model will be used for 2022 generation of WRC car but started with testing with muke Ford Fiesta WRC. It is so interesting tosee a new design of the roll cage with bars now placed on the driver's and co-driver's side to protect drivers from both sides of big impacts.

There is also a talk that new construction of the roll cage is also because of the power unit and batteries of the hybrid system which will be inside of the WRC cars from the next season. It is very important that those pars must be on the safe place from the big crashes which are just normal parts of the sport.

There are two drivers with testing duties at the moment - MMatthew Wilson and Adrien Fourmaux.

Matthew Wilson is son of M-Sport owner Malcolm who used to drive in the World Rally Championship from 2006 until 2012 regularly.

Adrien Fourmaux is a new rally star from France who just finished 5th overall at WRC Rally Croatia and I am happy to had a short chat with him while testing on tarmac.

So this test of new mule WRC 2022 car was held on gravel just around Barcelona and it is interesting to see a new generation of cars being developed on the scene.

Just to tell you that new machines will have more then 500bhpp with new hybrid system.

Enjoy the video...
