Gryazin tested with Volkswagen Polo R5 ahead of WRC Croatia Rally 2021

Now I know all the locations where rally teams are preparing for the next round of the World Rally Championship - for Croatia Rally 2021.

I have been on two of the locations spectating tests but there is a third one I didn't see but I know where it is and I can only say that those roads represent some of the parts of Croatian event.

Croatian tarmac is very special because it is a mixture of tarmac and concrete and there is so much changes of the quality so the tire choice must be good.

I mean, there is even worse tarmac in Croatia but it is in Istria, on Rally Poreč which is so greasy because of the red dirt, and that was the reason we retired on the same rally in October - because of the ultra slippery tarmac.

So I would say that roads for Croatia Rally are less slippery then in Istria but also very technical and fast on some places.

I heard from the guys who were on the test that Russian privateer Nikolay Gryazin was the real sensation with some jumps after the stewards were running from the road. He was brutally quick and it is expected that he will be the one to watch if he will stay on the road with the full attack mode from the start to the finish.

I must admit that I am angry not to spectate this test but there are some more tests before Sunday so I hope to see some more action alive.
