Lappi tested with Volkswagen Polo R5 ahead of WRC Rally Portugal 2021

Hi, friends!

WRC2 class winner from Arctic Rally Finland 2021 in February Esapekka Lappi is back behind a steering wheel pf a rally car. He will again drive Printsport's Volkswagen Polo R5 and he will be entered by Movisport from Italy because they registered as a manufacturer representative team.

Printsport team is from Finland, same as Lappi and they own lots of Škoda and Volkswagen Rally2 and R5 cars. Once, representative from Škoda revealed that Printsport bought probably 20 cars or more from them, and one car costs around 250 000€. You can add the price of the spare parts because you must have them to repair the car on the rally if something breaks, naturally or because of the shunt.

It is kinda bad thing to see that quick guys as Lappi, Ostberg and Mikkelsen driving in WRC2 class but it's better there then nowhere. Right?

Lappi has a new management team called Even Management who used to represent Andreas Mikkelsen. They are helping Lappi (with Printsport) to comeback on the right track after being dropped from M-Sport Ford team at the end of season 2020.

All three drivers are looking for WRC1 seat in 2022 and they need to perform at their best this season to take a seat in one of the works teams. It seems that only M-Sport Ford doesn't have drivers for the next season although it seems they will keep Adrien Fourmaux on a long term because he seems to be the future prospect.

Lappi tested in Portugal and it's best to test in the country where the rally will be held on. It's full of ruts but they know everything about it because they are professionals.
