Blast from the past - WRC Rally Catalunya 2000

Hi, friends!

Today we are 20 years in the past when Marcus Gonholm and Peugeot started to conquer the rally world again. Marcus Gronholm took his first WRC crown and Peugeot showed that small cars like 206 are much better on rally roads then big Mitsubishis, Subarus etc.

Another interesting driver drove for Peugeot that season and his name is Francois Delecour. I always used to put Delecour in front of Gronholm but Tall Finn finally found the car that suits him the best.

And don't forget that opposition was much stronger back then with McRae brothers, Tommi Makinen, Richard Burns, Juha Kankkunen etc.

It was also much more different manufacturers then today because sport was much bigger in the media. I would just say that seat selling in the works teams can't prosper forever.

A few more words about Rally Catalunya which was pure tarmac rally back then (today is a mixed surface . gravel/tarmac) and with wide roads, something much more similar to the circuit racing.
