Neuville fastest at today's shakedown of WRC Rally Monza 2020

Hi, friends!

Final round of the World Rally Championship 2020 has started today and I must admit that I didn't expect that kind of configuration of the special stages which were imagined to be run fully at the Monza F1 circuit.

Yes, they are partly driven at the Monza circuit but they have all kinds of stretches because rout goes under the oval on some gravel parts and all that with all kinds of tarmac tires.

Remember that it is not easy to drive with tarmac tires on gravel at full speed because the grip is just not there.

Some of the drivers had problems at today's shakedown and one of them was WRC championship leader Elfyn Evans who span and hit the barrier with the back of his Toyota Yaris WRC.

Guys at the service repaired and he was able to continue just after that.

His team mate Takamoto Katsuto, as a 4th Toyota works driver, hit the concrete wall and had to retire after the super special stage 1.

So Neuville was quickest, in front of the current WRC champion Ott Tanak, and six-times WRC champion Seb Ogier.

Ogier leads the rally after super special stage while his main rival and team mate Elfyn Evans is in 4th place.

If Ogier wins the rally, Evans has to finish at least 4th to clinch his first WRC title.

Let the best win - as always...
