Onboard rally video of the day - Gronholm with Peugeot 206 WRC at Rally Australia

Hi, friends!

I remember that rally in 2003 because Gronholm retired at one of the special stages at very high hairpin stucked upside-down.

He lost any chance of winning the championship after highly successful 2002 when he became World Rally Championship for the 2nd time in his career.

That car Peugeot 206 WRC was like a designed for his way of driving. The tall Finn almost couldn's sit normally in this tinny car.

But the result was great. He won almost every rally of the WRC in four years, from 1999 when it was introducced until the end of 2003 when it was the end of it because Peugeot made better car 307 WRC. Better is the wrong car because they were never that successful as until 2003.

Marcus Gronholm was always known as a gravel specialist and almost all rallies he won was on the gravel surface.

Well, you can't become a World Rally Champion if you are not super fast.

Watch Finnish master in action at gravel roads of Australia.

Enjoy and learn...

There's never been a post-rally driver interviewee better than Gronholm. I watched a lot of rally coverage from Speedvision back then. Gronholm was always a highlight.
