Onboard rally video of the day - Solberg sr with Subaru Impreza WRC at Rally Japan

Hi, friends!

We all know that Subaru brand with their sport model Impreza WRX STI became world known from rallying because some of the famous names gave the car World Rally Championship crowns.

We are talking here about Colin McRae at the first place because no one even knew about Subaru until super quick Colin took the car into the Rally GB forests and drove it on the limits. McRae gave them first WRC driver's crown in 1995 with three manufacturer's crowns in the '90's.

In 2000's Richard Burns won the title in 2001 while Petter Solberg became WRC champion in 2003. That was the last big success of Subaru in the world of rallying.

They pulled out of sport at the end of 2008 because of the global crises at that time but to be honest, they were nowhere for a longer time.

Solberg sr drove for them for about eight or nine seasons and the last seasons it was Chris Atkinson who drive the 2nd car. At some events they ran Stephane Sarrazin in the 3rd car (that was only for tarmac events because he was ex-F1 driver and tarmac specialist).

Petter Solberg was their first violin even with fact that Atkinson occasionally had more points then Solberg. But Solberg was let by the team to push to the limits and Atko had to finish the rallies.

Japan was the special event for them because Subaru is Japanese manufacturer so they had to give their maximum there.

Today we have Solberg's onboard from Japanese event. Enjoy that boxer engine because that was 17 years ago. What a nice time it was.
