Rally video of the day - Short documentary about Esapekka Lappi

Hi, friends!

Rally legend says that if you can win in Finland, you can win anywhere. And Esapekka Lappi won WRC Rally Finland in his first season with Toyota WRC team.

In the first season he had only eight WRC outings but with that win in Finland, he became a big name on the WRC radar.

He stayed with Toyota for one more season but in 2019 he was signed by Citroen to drive alongside Seb Ogier who signed for the same team after finishing two year contract with M-Sport.

Citroen stint was bad for both drivers because that Citroen C3 WRC was just developed in the bad way and something was wrong with the chassis because car understeered all the time. Seb Ogier won the title with every team he competed except with that Citroen so he quit them at the end of the same 2019 and left for Toyota.

Lappi was left without the job but still with salary for 2020. From what I heard, he was driving last season for free at M-Sport Ford because of that salary from Citroen.

Results were not there with M-Sport Ford and he lost his seat for this season.

But where is a talent, there is also always someone who want to help you with that talent and he was helped by Even Motorsport, the same team that helped him in 2011.

He drove Arctic Rally Finland in February and won the WRC2 class with Volkswagen Polo R5 in front of Andreas Mikkelsen who finished 2nd in Škoda Fabia Rally2.

I must admit that I am really happy to find this channel that published this video that I subscribed to it.

Enjoy it...
