Rally video of the day - WRC Night Service of Ott Tanak's Rally Car at WRC Australia 2018

Hi, friends!

Oh, how I enjoy watching people working on a rally car. Mechanics are just like an artists. When I see what kind of damage they can repair in only 20 minutes service, you can only admire them.

On first rally of the last season we posted 4th fastest time of 18 drivers in our class and that was on the first special stage of the day two. On the next special stage we were too quick on one fast but muddy corner after we finished in the ditch for half an hour.

When we finally got back into the service, our mechanic (plus two or three mechanics from the other crew) helped us while I was running on the fuel pump to bring the fluid for power steering because we lacked that at that moment. So I had to run twice to the petrol station for that fluid but guys managed to repair the damage we did in the ditch.

But World Rally Championship is just another planet.

When you see how many mechanics work on the car of Ott Tanak after he lost the front bumper somewhere on the special stage...

There are probably seven or eight guys working on that Toyota Yaris WRC on the biggest service of the day - and that's the last service which is also the longest one. Usually it is 45 minutes long and mechanics can change everything they need.

If you see how long is the video, it says 43 minutes. That's because crew must enter the time control and enter into the service and find their box. After the repairs, they must go to the time control at the exit of the service park

So, all the repairs plus drive in and out of service is long 45 minutes.

Enjoy watching the artists of the rallying...
