Toyota finally revealed their 2022 WRC1 hybrid rally car

Hi, friends!

Two days ago Toyota's testing driver Juho Hanninen started to test with their mule car which is still Toyota Yaris WRC but in colors manufacturers use when they still hide some aero or design stuff on the car.

Ome thing I noticed from this video is that side bar oof the rollcage is different from the M-Sport Ford challenger which is still unknown which model will be, but the test mule is Ford Fiesta WRC.

M-Sport Ford has really on the side bar and Toyota has the side bar more to the tale. I guess that it will still be changing because these are early mule models for the testing.

No one know if there is a hybrid unit with battery inside but I heard that teams are testing with 100kg more weight because the unit will be around that weight.

I can see that cars are little bit slower then the current WRC models so it seems that there are no units inside the engine bay. A month ago manufacturer of the units called the WRC manufacturers to sent the units back because they found a terminal error on them.

They say that it is pretty normal that in development phase to find some glitches in the parts and it's better to find them sooner then later.

It is still early but they will have to work hard whole summer on the development because they will have to homologate basic stuff on July 1st. After that they will have to test intensively because all cars have some gremlins which have to be terminated during the testing process.

So Hanninen started testing with Toyota Yaris WRC for 2022 and this is probably initial drive. I guess that their works drivers should start to work on it soon.

The problem is that Toyota still don't have contracted drivers for 2022 except Kalle Rovanpera but from what I heard is that Elfyn Evans won't have problems to get another contract from them.
