Is this How Manchester United's Season Ends?
There are only 4 hours left on the clock before Manchester United walk out to our most important game of the season and the nerves are already tingling. It is not like the game against Newcastle is giving me any confidence that we are about to blow Lyon away.
No! It is doing the exact opposite. Not only did we lose one of our 'best' players, Zirkzee, but Onana is going back in goal for the second leg after he basically cost us in the first leg.
It is looking bleak!
But it is in this bleak moments that Manchester United seem to rise like a phoenix and surprise the disheartened fans. That feels to be the mood at the moment, just like it was before the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The difference though is that in the games before the FA Cup final, we saw a greater deal of solidity and tenacity as if we were practicing for the challenge ahead. This time round we go into this game on the back of a 4 goal disaster against Newcastle, of which 3 goals were due to mistakes by the defenders and the goal keeper.
However, hope is not entirely gone. Not when you have a man like Bruno Fernandes in your corner. And he has had something to say about this crucial game.
His hunger for winning, for trophies, cannot be questioned in the slightest. What has always been in question is the quality of players around him. Are they going to step up or are they going to feel the pressure of the day?
My hope is that players like Hojlund and Garnacho show more than they have this season. No more weak shots. No more shots that end up in Row Z. No more falling over under minimal pressure. No more selfishness.
Because if they cannot step up today, this season is as good as done and they can consider their careers at Manchester United over.

Unfortunately, I did right before they took the penalty. I was fuming! 5 minutes later I am wondering why my friends are not sending me messages so I turned the TV on just when Kobbie was curling it into the far corner to make it level. I couldn't believe it. The Maguire goal seconds later and the entire neighborhood was screaming, people raving on the balconies at 2 AM in the morning.
I didn't even sleep until 8am in the morning Tales. My brain was fried.
Haha. Fair enough. I would have turned off at the penalty too.

For me it was over as soon as I saw that replay of Shaw tripping up that Fofana kid. I didn't even wait to see if Onana would save it.
I had to go on those full match replay sites to catch those final minutes of the game again. I have been on TikTok, YouTube fan reactions, the hate watchers and fans alike. Imagine all this excitement and then we get pasted by Bilbao.
