Premier League apprentice takes on The Master

Leeds United and Manchester City have made contrasting starts to the 2020-21 campaign. Leeds have won two games from the opening three fixtures in the premier league since their promotion back in the top flight. Manchester City, meanwhile, are yet to hit their stride in the league, having lost 5-2 at home to Leicester in the last game-week.

Leeds united are looking to win three consecutive premier league games for the first time since January 2003. Marcelo Bielsa has turned Leeds into a menacing outfit to overcome; their positive, attack-minded approach to games. Since their baptism of fire at Anfield in the opening fixture, where they lost to defending champions Liverpool, Leeds United haven't looked back; defeating fellow promoted team Fulham and Sheffield United. Which makes this clash even more enticing, as Leeds need to continue what they do to unlock City's shaky defense.

Manchester City have only lost one of their last 31 Premier League games against promoted sides (W25 D5), with their defeat to Norwich City last season, as they happened to be the championship winners in the previous year... hunch hunch nudge nudge! In saying this, Man City have not lost back-to-back Premier League game since December 2018.

Patrick Bamford has impressed so far, he has scored in each of the opening 3 fixtures for Leeds in this Premier League campaign, whilst Man City are still without a recognised striker with Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero sidelined due to injury, which means that Raheem Sterling could play as a false nine.

Leeds have won three of their last five Premier League meetings with Manchester City (D1 L1). This is their first clash since March 2004 where Leeds won 2-1. Since founding their oil rig at Etihad stadium, Leeds have lost to City 4 - 0 in an FA cup tie back in February 2013.
