If you realize that someone is aggressive and can attack you at any moment, you have to be careful to protect yourself. Sometimes you might not get any signal, but if you get any signal, that is better because now you can do something about it. When someone pushes you and moves towards you, he can also punch or kick you.
Welcome back to Self Defense Situation - Part 69. In this series of posts, we usually talk about different situations and what you can do to defend yourself and get back home safe.
So what would you do if you are in a situation where someone is moving forward and keeps pushing you. Let's watch this video. This is not my video and all video credit goes to Nick Drossos.
When you are not aware of your surroundings and someone attacks you out of nowhere, that is difficult to defend. The moment someone pushes you and is aggressive, you realize that he can attack you as well.
So why does the guy pushes you? Does he want you to get out of there or he just wants to hurt you?
If you think it is better not to get involved in any sort of fight, you can move back and get out of there soon. When the guy moves towards you and keeps pushing you, you can make the distance so that he cannot push you. Keep your hands up and just move to the side instead of moving straight back.
In case you cannot get out of there and you have to attack, you can get in to the side. You can attack him and it would be difficult for him to attack you. If you watch the above video, I would like to point out a couple of things.
When you get close to the attacker, you can attack him and he can do the same. So attack him with a strong defense. Keep your balance when you strike. If you attack and lose your balance, you will be in a vulnerable position and that is not going to help you defend yourself.
So always keep your balance and make your move. You just strike him so that you can get out of there. You do not have to keep fighting until you become the winner. This is not about winning, this is all about defending yourself and get back home alive.
