I wanted to make a specific, singular post because it's a pretty great piece of news that Jayon Brown is returning to the team!

With all the recent players being cut, it's great to see a starter return to the Titans. Not only a starter, but a good player and a player that was drafted by the Titans. Jayon has only been a Titan throughout his four year career, and now he will be a Titan for another year. Half a decade!

There is something just refreshing and nice about a player and franchise remaining loyal to one another. Sports, and society nowadays, always want something instantly. Or everyone assumes that the grass is greener somewhere else.

I believe it shows some pretty good character for Jayon to do that. Of course money does talk but apparently Jayon was offered better money, but stayed in Tennessee and signed on a pretty team friendly deal. Jayon was injured last season, and he is betting on himself that he can play well and get a nice contract next year.

Jayon Brown has been the team's starting right inside linebacker for the past three seasons. He wasn't the starter in his rookie season, but he did appear in all sixteen games and had a lot of snaps.

Jayon is a fast and well rounded linebacker. He's particularly very good in pass coverage which is always extremely beneficial.

In his four seasons as a Titans Jayon has appeared in 56 games while starting 33. In that time Jayon has recorded the following stats:

  • 330 combined tackles (216 solo)
  • 17 tackles for loss
  • 9.5 sacks
  • 3 interceptions
  • 26 passes defended
  • 2 defensive touchdowns (1 interception return, 1 fumble return)
  • 4 forced fumbles
  • 3 fumble recoveries

Getting Jayon back was huge. It will really help the defense gel together in this wild offseason full of change. Jayon is an easy going positive presence as far as I can tell from interviews and social media. Jayon is definitely one of my favorite Titans.

As a Titans fan, it's cool to see when players are able to stay in Nashville for an extended period of time, obviously as long as they are able to produce.

Glad to have you back Jayon! Looking forward to seeing you make BIG plays in 2021!
