Football or soccer (whichever one you prefer to call it) has always been one of my favorite sports… My love for football began way back in my childhood days, kicking anything that’s on the floor. As I was bought my first real ball, it became even better as I was able to play with people around me. Sometimes it felt a bit weird because there were very few females who played football back in the days in school. For me, it was a sports in found really interesting and grew up to love the game. Right now I watch a lot of football matches and play football games as well. At the moment, the two most popular football games on console is PES and FIFA (I don’t know if there is any other competitor because these two have been in total dominance for the past years now). I play both PES and FIFA but I’ve started leaning towards FIFA more of recent due to its ever growing fan base and the improvements the game is getting in each release.

When it comes to best football games on console, there is an unending debate on which one is better between PES and FIFA… Both games have dominated the space so it is understandable why they have huge fan base with split opinions. For me, I used to enjoy playing PES (I still do though) because of the gameplay and the pace of the game. I think PES had better gameplay and gaming experience compared to FIFA which I found a bot too slow and weightless. When playing a PES game, you can feel that the players have weight and the game physics felt right for me. But FIFA, the players felt a bit too weightless and slow. That’s just me because I had friends who said otherwise and preferred FIFA better. FIFA was better when it comes to in game atmosphere experience, commentary and just overall better real match feel compared to PES which felt like an advanced game rather than a real match… But now, it looks as if FIFA has taken over a very large portion of the football gaming community due to its continuous improvements.

As far as football games is concerned for me, it ends on consoles or PC and I’ve never been a huge fan of football games on mobile. Yes the mobile football games from PES and FIFA has gotten a lot more advanced now that it is almost on the same level to handheld console games. People who aren’t able to afford consoles or gaming PC or mobile games lovers could totally enjoy playing these games on their smart phones as the developers of these games most especially PES and FIFA have done great jobs in making the games top notch. However, for me, playing football games on my mobile doesn’t feel natural especially with the onscreen controls thingy, which for me doesn’t feel comfortable… I feel more comfortable with a controller and able to play the game with complete control of my gameplay using a controller. While searching for games made by the creators of basketball stars (which is the best basketball game I’ve played on mobile), I came across a football game by the same developers of basketball stars called football strike… This game is probably the exact type and concept to basketball stars but for football. For me, this is one of the best football games on mobile when you talk of pure fun.

Football Strike is an amazing pure multiplayer football based mobile game. The concept of the game is a bit similar to that of basketball stars. The gameplay of this game is really fun and interesting. When you start the game, 3 game modes – shooting race, free kicks and career mode. In the shooting race mode, you compete against opponents online in a head-to-head match against time to outscore your opponent. There are different targets positioned in the goal post, the aim of both players is to try to hit as many targets as possible before the time runs out. The more accurate your shots it, the more points you will earn. At the end of the time, the player with the most points wins. In the Free kick mode, you become the player and the goalkeeper depending on which turn it is to play or to be in the goal post. You face your opponent in a head-to-head free kick match… Your aim is to try to beat the goalkeeper (your opponent) and score. When it is your turn to be the goalkeeper, your aim is to try to stop the ball from going into the net by guessing the right spot your opponent will put the ball. I like this mode a lot and probably my favorite game mode. The career mode is basically like that of basketball stars – you can check my previous post… The career mode basically combines the two game modes into one but instead of a one off head-to-head match, you play through series of stages and your aim is to progress through the different stages. The graphics of the game is top notch… The players have a bit of console game feel. Overall, the game is super fun to play.
