Willy Morgan, an ordinary young man

A new graphic adventure arrives that already from the first moment transmits very good feelings to me. Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town is the work of Imaginarylab studio and is distributed by VLG Publishing, who have released a demo of the game on Steam. However, despite having played an advanced beta that goes beyond the normal demo, I wanted to focus on telling what we will find in the public demo so as not to gut details of the plot or the resolution of puzzles.

And I'll start by telling you that the game puts us in the shoes of Willy Morgan, an ordinary young man who lives in a house with his mother, absent due to travel issues. One day, someone sends him a mysterious note under the door saying that he has information about the whereabouts of his father, Henry Morgan, who disappeared 10 years ago in strange circumstances, and that for this he must visit a certain place in the nearby town of Bone Town. Willy gets down to work and tries to solve the mystery.

The first thing that caught my attention is that the beta that has come to the newsroom only has two languages: English and Italian, while the public demo is multilanguage. I have not given importance to this because we understand that it is a special version for testing not intended for large masses and therefore this decision has been made on purpose, so without problems.

After receiving the aforementioned letter, the objective of the demo is to find all the parts of our bicycle scattered around our home to be able to go to the town of Bone Town. Therefore the only scenario that we will see will be that of our house and nothing else, although in the beta we even reached the town of Bone Town, but that will be another story for another day.

The truth is that the gameplay and the puzzles have seemed quite convincing to me from what I have seen so far, and without knowing if their complexity will increase or decrease later on, we must give the coconut a lot but without becoming impossible or finding solutions in the style of "clicking on a specific pixel". We have a classic gameplay based on combining objects to advance and store them in the inventory, which also allow us to open and close very comfortably by simply turning the mouse wheel up or down.

The visual section is very striking, something that you can already see in the screenshots, showing a very peculiar artistic style that personally reminds me of the Monster House movie both in the twisted shapes and in the character design. The animations and movements also attract a lot of attention, made with a method that we could almost call stop-motion, or at least very similar, managing to convey the same sensations.

Little more can I say except that Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town has left me some very good first impressions, with a very characteristic humor and a very attractive visual style.
