Unboxing Fitness Bench & using it as office chair 🙅‍♂️ or Rent a chair at $4.00

In my last post, I talked about placing an order of a fitness bench. Today, I've received it. Let's unbox it & see How I am planning to use it.

The Box

This is how I received the Fitness Bench which I ordered earlier. My son, he was feeling better today. Whenever we get something delivered at home, he rushes to the main door. He is always keen to know whats there. I tried hard to keep him away while unboxing, but he wouldn't go away. I made him sit next to me in his little chair. While he was slurping water from bottle, I started unboxing the fitness Bench.

The Bubble Wrap

The moment my son saw that bubble wrap, he threw the bottle on one side & stood up from the chair. He immediately sat next to that box & started poking those bubble wrap. So, I removed those bubble wrap & gave it to him to keep him busy while I assemble the bench. Again when I started assembling bench with plier, he got curious about the plier. I asked him to sit on sofa while I assemble the bench. I asked nicely & to my surprise, he agreed & climbed on sofa. 👏

Fast Forward assembly

I managed to assemble the bench in 20 minutes. While assembling, I realised that the quality of the bench is quite low. But what can you expect from a $35 bench. Some of the edges are very sharp. I may have to find a way to smoothen it up.

Attempt to replace it as an office chair

This is where I sit & do most of the work. I use one of the dining chair 🤷
Today, after assembling the fitness bench, I tried replacing dining chair with fitness bench.
Even though idea is not bad, it is not confortable at all. Seat is flat & has little space to sit on.
Stupid me - thought that I could replace it with dining chair. I need an actual office chair.

What do you think? Should I Rent a chair?

Believe me, office chairs are bit expensive. But for this problem, there is a solution.
In India, you can rent a chair at as low as $4.00

Seems like, I would have to place an order soon for a rented chair before I start hurting my back & have an impact on my overall productivity.
