[ESP-ENG] ¡Mi introducción a Hive! / My introduction to Hive!

¡Hola, comunidad de Hive!

Hace algún tiempo alguien me hizo referencia a ésta distinguida comunidad de escritores, creadores y artistas; y desde entonces he venido investigando sobre la misma, pero es ahora cuando he decidido materializar mi primer trabajo en Hiver Blog, puesto que he quedado satisfecho con lo que he visto y leído; y además porque me parece el sitio ideal para dar rienda suelta a esas ideas que tenemos represadas en algún lugar de nuestro intelecto y que acá pueden ser apreciadas y reconocidas según la calidad y originalidad de las mismas.

Some time ago, someone referred to me this distinguished community of writers, creators, and artists; and since then I have been investigating it, but it is now when I have decided to materialize my first work in Hiver Blog since I have been satisfied with what I have seen and read; and also because it seems to be the ideal place to unleash those ideas that we have dammed up somewhere in our intellect and here can be appreciated and recognized according to their quality and originality.

Luego de esa pequeña introducción, paso a hablarles un poco sobre mí, mi familia y mis trabajos; de manera sucinta para no hacerlo tan largo y no aburrirles.

After this little introduction, I will go on to tell you a little about myself, my family, and my work; in a succinct way so as not to make it so long and not to bore you.

¡Aquí voy!

Mi nombre es Miguel Colina, tengo 45 años, de nacionalidad venezolana, oriundo de los llanos apureños, esos llanos que fueron la cuna de Marisela, territorio de Doña bárbara y Florentino Coronado, así como fuente de inspiración para la pluma de Don Rómulo Gallegos. Soy el N° 6 de 12 hermanos, 6 hembras y 6 varones, todos de un mismo padre y misma madre; Casado y padre de 3 hijos: Stef, mi tarea pendiente; Ernesto, mi orgullo y Oriana, mi dolor de cabeza, pero en fin, mis hijos.

My name is Miguel Colina, I am 45 years old, of Venezuelan nationality, a native of the Apure plains, those plains that were the birthplace of Marisela, the territory of Doña Bárbara and Florentino Coronado, as well as a source of inspiration for the pen of Don Rómulo Gallegos. I am the numbre six of 12 siblings: 6 females and 6 males, all from the same father and the same mother. Married and father of 3 children: Stef, my pending task; Ernesto, my pride and Oriana, my headache, but in short, my children.

Amante del deporte, especialmente del futbol sala y de campo (Real Madrid y La Vinotinto), del beisbol (Leones del Caracas), de la natación (Michael Phelps), del boxeo (Ray Sugar Leonard), de las bolas criollas y del bowling, resaltando que en éstas últimas dos disciplinas he logrado destacarme en diferentes torneos logrando premiaciones y reconocimientos que me han dejado grandes satisfacciones a nivel individual y de equipo.

I am a sports lover, especially indoor and field soccer (Real Madrid and La Vinotinto), baseball (Leones del Caracas), swimming (Michael Phelps), boxing (Ray Sugar Leonard), Creole balls, and bowling, highlighting that in these last two disciplines I have managed to stand out in different tournaments, achieving awards and recognitions that have left me great satisfaction at an individual and team level.

Acá les comparto algunos de los trofeos obtenidos a nivel individual y de equipo.

Here, I share with you some of the trophies that I earned.

As you can see, an integrity athlete.

Por otro lado, presté servicio militar (para aquel entonces obligatorio) desde 1987 hasta 1989, egresando con el rango de cabo 1ro., máximo distinción otorgada en su momento.

On the other hand, I served in the military (at that time compulsory) from 1987 to 1989, graduating with the rank of 1st corporal, the highest distinction awarded at the time.

En busca de mejoras socio económicas, en el año 1990 me trasladé a la Ciudad de Caracas, empleándome en una empresa de seguridad en la cual rápidamente escalé posiciones y, en menos de 1 año, ya era jefe de grupo. El excelente desempeño mostrado en mi cargo, la disciplina militar, mi comportamiento, responsabilidad y otros atributos resaltantes en el desempeño de mis funciones, fueron determinantes para que la empresa a la cual le prestaba seguridad -una importante institución bancaria del país-, me propusiera formar parte de su nómina y, a partir de ese momento y durante más de 20 años formé parte de dicha institución desempeñando varios cargos importantes, hasta que la caída del poder adquisitivo de los salarios, me obligó a trazar un rumbo diferente al de mi adorada empresa y probar el camino del emprendimiento individual en el área de charcutería, sobre cuya actividad ahora mismo no daré mayores detalles, pues ya estoy preparando un contenido dedicado íntegramente a dicha actividad.

I moved to the city of Caracas, employing myself in a security company in which I quickly climbed positions and, in less than 1 year, I was already head of the group. The excellent performance shown in my position, the military discipline, my behavior, responsibility, and other outstanding attributes in the performance of my duties, were decisive for the company to which I provided security - an important banking institution in the country - proposed me be part of their payroll and, from that moment and for more than 20 years I was part of said institution, holding various important positions, until the fall in the purchasing power of salaries, forced me to chart a different course from that of my beloved company and try the path of individual entrepreneurship in the delicatessen area, on whose activity I will not give more details right now, as I am already preparing a content dedicated entirely to said activity.

Por otra parte, considero importante informarles que soy Licenciado en trabajo Social, egresado de la Universidad Central de Venezuela y, aunque no he ejercido plenamente la profesión, puedo decir que he tenido casos que me han dejado experiencias enriquecedoras y que algún día me gustaría retomar el origen de mi formación académica.

On the other hand, I consider it important to inform you that I have a degree in Social work, graduated from the Central University of Venezuela and, although I have not fully practiced the profession, I can say that I have had cases that have left me enriching experiences and that one day I would like to resume the origin of my academic training.

En otro orden de ideas, les comunico que siempre me ha gustado la lectura y creo que escribir es uno de mis puntos fuertes a nivel académico. En tal sentido, considero que éste es un momento idóneo para iniciarme como Hiver, pues actualmente estoy en una coyuntura personal que me invita a replantearme mi estadía acá en la capital y evaluar seriamente un retorno a mis raíces, es decir, volver a mi llano apureño.

In another vein, let me tell you that I have always liked reading and I believe that writing is one of my strengths at an academic level. In this sense, I consider that this is an ideal time to start as Hiver since I am currently in a personal situation that invites me to rethink my stay here in the capital and seriously evaluate a return to my roots.

No obstante, en virtud de que en esos lares hay pocas fuentes de empleo, Hive Blog cobraría una gran importancia en mi vida a través de sus recompensas en forma de ingreso. En este sentido, considero que tengo mucho por aportar a la comunidad Hiver a través de temas de gran interés como problemáticas sociales de casos individuales propias de mi carrera académica, temas relacionados con seguros y con el llano y sus faenas diarias, sus peligros, sus bellezas, sus mitos y leyendas; su gente y su cultura y, en fin, todo lo que envuelve a esa tierra ancha llena de misterios y tradiciones.

However, since there are few sources of employment in those parts, Hive Blog would become very important in my life through its rewards in the form of income. In this sense, I consider that I have a lot to contribute to the Hiver community through topics of great interest such as social problems of individual cases typical of my academic career, issues related to insurance and the plain and its daily tasks, its dangers, its beauties, their myths and legends; its people and its culture and, in short, everything that surrounds that wide land full of mysteries and traditions.

Por ahora les dejo esas pinceladas sobre mi vida y algunos de los rasgos que definen mi personalidad, por lo cual, de corazón, MIL GRACIAS por haber dedicado un par de minutos para leer mi historia. Espero, humildemente, ser aceptado por ésta bella comunidad de creadores lo cual me motivaría enormemente a estar muy, pero muy pronto de nuevo por este medio compartiendo mis historias con cada uno de ustedes.

For now, I leave you those brushstrokes about my life and some of the traits that define my personality, for which, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for having dedicated a pair of minutes to read my story. I humbly hope to be accepted by this beautiful community of creators, which would greatly motivate me to be very, very soon again hereby sharing my stories with each of you.
