To do high kicks, you have to raise your leg. It is highly recommended doing stretching. You can start your training slowly and speed it up later. You are not a gymnastic but having flexibility is important for a martial artist. When you have flexibility, it will be easier to make your move.

Before doing kicks, you can do kick preparation. So what is kick preparation anyway? When you do any kick, for example, side kick, raise your leg step by step, then extend your leg to kick, get back your leg, and put it on the ground. The way you kick, just do it slowly and step by step. You can hold the position when you deliver the kick in kick preparation. It will help you to be better at doing kicks.

After doing kick preparation, you can do kick at normal speed. You can use a kick bag and kick on the kick bag. When you practice like this regularly, you will see your progress. Pay your full attention during training. Always listen to your instructors.
