HISTORY MADE IN BUDAPEST BATTLE OF BRACES
Euro 2016 finalist Portugal and France share the Spoils at the Pukas Arena as both team played a 2-2 draw to qualify the next round of 16.
Portugal hero Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show by beating Ali Daei's record of 109 International goal by scoring twice though from penalty spot for his country.
At first it was France who started strongly until the midway when Daniel was fouled when he was attempting to reach a free kick by Moutinho. It was Ronaldo who stepped up to take the Penalty to make his International goal to be the same with Ali Daei's record.
Just before the HT Paul Pogba played a through pass to Kylian Mbappe which was block clumsily by Semedo causing referee to give France Penalty as well.
It just took Paul Pogba two minute in the second half to bend the ball among defenders and capitalise on the ponderous defending by the Portuguese and gave a dangerous through pass to Benzema who did not hesitate to convert the pass to goal.
The persistency of Portuguese made them to attack France and got another goal which was played again by Ronaldo. The match ended in 2-2. And this made France to top the group F table with 5 point while Portugal ended in 4 point and finish in one of the best third place. Their position in the table shows that Portugal will have to face Belgium in Seville while France will play Switzerland in Bucharest for the round of 16.
