INVINCIBLE ITALY EQUALLED RECORD SET IN 1939 AFTER PLAYING WITH WALES

Italy matched their all time 30 match unbeaten record after securing a win over Wales in a 1-0 victory at the stadio Olimpico. The solitary goal from Matteo Pessina secured their 11th straight winning and saw them progress as group A winner.

Italy did not only equal their all time 30 matches unbeaten run alone since 1939, they also finish the Euro group perfectly ever since they have done that last in year 2000.

The Italians take the lead before HT after a perfect free kick by PSG Marco Verratti was knocked in by Matteo Pessina.

Italy came close to scoring of second goal when when a free kick taken by Frederico Bernardeschi hit the post.

Just before the end of the match Chelsea loanee Ethan Ampadu was shown a red card after a rough tacle. Italy ended the match by pressurising Wales goal keeper Danny Ward.
