THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

Last night the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE final was played, Manchester City took on Chelsea in an all-English final. I would have never expected Chelsea to win against Man City. I am still in shock about the outcome of the game.

Before the game, I had conversations with my friend and I was of the opinion that Man city had a better chance of winning the game. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Chelsea, they have been outstanding in both the EPL and CHAMPIONS LEAGUE since Thomas Tuchel's arrival at the club.

On the other hand, Manchester City has been phenomenal this season. They won the EPL this season and the EFL cup and also reached their first-ever Champions League final under Pep Guardiola. Although they had to say goodbye to Aguero, one of Manchester City's best players.

The final was placed in Porto, Portugal. Supporters were allowed at the stadium, but due to covid-19 policies, the stadium was not filled up. Both sides' formation was impressive, City with 433 and Chelsea with 3421.

Chelsea's Timo Werner was unlucky, missing three good chances to score a goal. Then the game took a turn when 3 mins before the end of the first half Kai Harvertz gave Chelsea a one-to-nil lead against Man City.

The second half was filled with much action and intensity. The second half saw City fighting their way to get a goal, putting much pressure but Chelsea's defence stood firm. Kante played a huge role in denying City the chance they were looking for.

All attempts by Man city to equalize proved abortive as the match ended with Chelsea winning with one goal to nil. It was a joyous day as Chelsea was crowned as UEFA Champions for the second time.

It was an amazing match, congratulations to all Chelsea fans.

Many gave Chelsea little chance to win before the final. Good for them they proved doubters wrong.

Terrible night Manchester City, too bad they fell at the final stage after their impressive run to the final.

Big congratulations Chelsea
