Sports report on a slow chess match?! [EN-DE] Sportreportage zu einem langsamen Schachspiel?!

Hello chess community! For a long time I've wanted to tell you about our enjoyment of slow chess, which I currently often report on in small bites at Noise.Cash. Now on the occasion of a longer post it's finally time.

The post has also appeared on Read.Cash, see https://read.cash/@anli/sports-report-on-a-slow-chess-match-en-de-sportreportage-zu-einem-langsamen-schachspiel-664ca187

Here is yet another good game of chess with a dear friend of mine.

The lesson: Expect the unexpected

I loved the opening of this game. As most of the times with chess 960 there is variety to be expected.

https://www.chess.com/game/daily/345442391

At 5.Rxf5 I felt a tense momentum, because I miscalculated my Rook defense (5) against the Knight and Bishop threat (3). When I saw it happen I prioritized my Rook over this poor Pawn and went on with revenge in mind.

The advancement looks even more interesting. Both of us often build complex knots with those artful chess policies and pieces. At 9.Bf3 I commented in our chat: "9. By wondering: Why is the Knight f5 actually no longer covered? It only took a moment until I asked myself: Who did the Bishop from e4 actually cover?" And then came the revenge!

You can not foresee these moments. That's what I love about chess. Especially about slow online chess where I can stick around with the pieces all day long without my opponent watching before I make a decision.

Immediately afterwards I took a look at the diagonal b7/g2. However, I refrained from my first impulse to move my queen there, as I feared the bishop on g3. (Queen, forbear the bishop!)

When my opponent built up pressure on my Rook with 11.e4, he confessed in the chat that he hadn't noticed the pressure on his Rook before. But so the pressure was balanced out and discharged in a battle without any notable successes - except for the one of being able to better conquer the scorched earth.

Did I mention how chess often depicts political and sociological contexts? That is exactly what it does.

With 14.c5 I then prepared a campaign for my Queen, who I had previously spared, and won further material with her to put the King under direct pressure. It took until 20.Bf2 that I received the offer to get a safe square for the Bishop g1, but overlooked it! Instead I opened up the chance for my opponent to pin that Bishop to my own Queen. (Queen, forbear the bishop!)

Then it went on with a lot of fiddling. But that's what I love about chess, especially slow online chess. But see for yourself.

PS: In the 28th move, I would have liked to have puzzled and fought vigorously once again. But I don't want to tell you about that here, so as not to deprive you of the fun of watching the game yourself from move 20 at the latest.

Hallo Schach-Community!

https://www.chess.com/game/daily/345442391

I'm so happy to have finally invested time in a post like this. I don't ultimately get to network via Hive in such a way that something comparatively comes around, unfortunately. I'm very much in favor of useful hints that don't just burn up more time. Unfortunately, I don't have enough of that right now and I'm happy to spend the rest of the time with my family.

:-) !invest_vote !ENGAGE 5

This is not a matter of conviction, no, sorry to say. I take the liberty of quoting myself. In this way, it will also be on-chain.

"It's not that it's to fast. It's that I don't like to wait and don't like to let my opponent wait for the next move. Asyncronous Chess to me solved the problem. Clock Chess is something I do at a table with chai in between matches, not alone at a screen while my family has chai without me. <3"

As for your German comment on Noise, it is so much more rewarding for me at the moment, as can be seen from my posts. Marc De Mesel is still funding Rewards at $ 4,000 per day. So everyone knows where the money comes from and where it goes. No promises from the developers that there is anything great for blogging, of which with Hive the witnesses are rightly paid (good or bad).

Noise's filters recognize better and better quality, which improves reward. And if it is little, I love to pay something on top from what I get, not to get rich, but because I am convinced of the on-chain part of our platforms. The joy of experimentation additionally increases the attractiveness and quality with many of the updates. And as a micro-blogging platform, the bar is much lower. And that's regardless of how much capital is staked into an account. No staking at all.

All of this additionally makes on-boarding a lot easier. And friends I've unsuccessfully invited so far who don't want to set up Noise definitely don't want Hive either. On the other hand, those who actually do join Noise are surprisingly often also fascinated by Hive - or one of the other on-chain platforms. Worse, those who get frustrated with Hive probably won't try Noise as quickly and would rather stick with facebook or Telegram.

Also all this networking for good curation with constant urge for HAVE TO publish because anything older than seven days is often just data garbage. Comments I experience very, very rarely. Especially under posts that are three days old. Noise? Silence.

It is also easier for me to say my opinion there, because it is off-chain and on-chain only happens that what must be on-chain for rewards. And true, for rewards from inflation content must be on-chain as well. Pictures are also not for eternity here, as understandable as that is. Many communities run extensive Discord servers for a reason. The time for this is simply not worth the few bells to me. And if I invest, so that the inflation is worthwhile for me, I am immediately again in the urge, because left unused this investment is lost capital (won for others) or automation through curator systems is in demand, although it should not actually be.

Now that I write it down like this, I become aware of all this. And I think it's good that I can do this on-chain, because that's where on-chain is useful again. This is also absolutely enough for me being a comment, which no one here will even notice unless someone else points it out. I love all this and I also love the people who fill it with life. But my day also has only 24 hours, and that's four mouths and eight eyes and ears in my case, which it affects. I don't know if anyone has ever thought about all this. Well, here it is.

PS: And I love these side-chain projects like !ENGAGE 30 for being available for little investment. No loss laying around passive some weeks of the year. Has probably something of both: centralized initiative and inflative rewards. !invest_vote !PUREWATER !FRESHAIR

Thanks for your insights. From time to time I come to noise.cash but I guess if you are only sporadic there it doesn´t make sense. For me my time is better spent on Hive. On Hive people can also lease out their HP so even in absence they can get a profit on their investments. This makes Hive attractive to investors, curators and content providers.
