Touring the city of Monte Vera by bicycle
A few days ago I organized with a friend a bike tour around the city of Monte Vera. This city is relatively 7 km from my house and it is very close to resume these old habits that we had with my friends of getting to know places by bike.
We were too out of shape, but the day was so beautiful that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to cycle a few miles.
For the trip, we only took the bare essentials. We brought a bottle of water, something to eat like fruit, and an unwavering willpower.
When one is out of shape, these types of routes seem eternal, and even more so in my case, as the bike is 26 inches and some components are old, so I feel that after a few pedal strokes it starts to brake on its own.
Once we arrived at the main square of Monte Vera, we went to drink some water, chat for a while, and eat something. After eating a grilled sandwich filled with ham and cheese that we bought along the way, we looked at the map and saw that the river was relatively close.
By relatively close I mean that I was 3 km from where the city is located and it is quite close compared to other places because the route has one direction and the river gets further and further away as one heads north along the same route.
If we went around more, we went towards the river, pedaling quietly, enjoying the day. You'll see that I was wearing a jacket because I was a little cold, but then it started to get warm, and my friend was wearing short sleeves.
When we got to the river, the view was truly beautiful. You could see there were a lot of fish, as some were biting or splashing in the water. At that moment, we realized it would have been great to have a hook and some bait to try fishing. Although it's not our strong suit, it's fun.
After that ride, we headed back home, and along the way, I came across some pigeons that were almost run over by the road, but I was able to grab them and put them in a safe place. We also got sunburned, but only minor burns. Then we went to play basketball for a while, so the day was a lot of fun, and we ended up quite tired.
