Losing interest in non-blockchain games

(Edited)

In the recent few months, I noticed that I have been losing interest in non-blockchain games. To be precise the games just drain our time but don't provide any income opportunity. The main reason for losing interest in non-blockchain games is because there is only a fun element over there. But if we choose a game that is available in blockchain, the fun element might be a little less but it will definitely give a decent source of income. Even it is little, some people would say that it is far better than nothing the other games would provide. A good source of passive income is always good than having nothing at all.

There are many games emerging on Hive blockchain and many other blockchains that act as a good source of income for casual gamers. These blockchain gaming opportunities tell us that gaming is not only for fun but is also for earning something by playing. A few years back, there were opportunities for games to earn something for playing. But to earn, they have to be a top gamer and participate in tournaments, etc. Today the world is changing and every little gamer gets an opportunity to earn.

The future of the gaming industry will definitely move in this direction. Many games have already started exploring blockchain as their backend to make NFT possibilities. The companies in the gaming industries have already started investing a lot of money into this kind of stuff. There are also many blockchains slowly adding NFT features onto their chains to support real-world use cases like these.

One thing that I'm really glad about the Hive engine is the fact that it provides an enormous opportunity for game developers to integrate with the Hive Engine sidechain and start using the NFT features over there to distribute their game perks. dCity and Rising star are the best examples to showcase the possibilities for using blockchain technology to monetize the games and take the gaming industry to next level.

Losing interest in non-blockchain games

So coming back to the topic, I find it hard these days to play games that don't give me any source of income at all or anything in return for the time I spend on these games. I have the habit of exploring games from the play store and giving them a try. But the interest in them has reduced drastically in the last 3 years. My focus has gone more towards blockchain-related games or any games that are backed by crypto. Even though such games are less interesting, they at least have this opportunity to earn. That's why many people prefer playing games on blockchain platforms rather than going for a game that is not profitable.

Whenever I look at some games from Play Store, nowadays I have started thinking about how that game can be converted to blockchain and how it can be monitored. My thoughts are going in that direction these days. There are also facilities where a nice sink can be created for the token economy if we have the in-game token as a cryptocurrency. Most of the modern games now have in-game tokens or currency which can easily be adapted with crypto concepts.

I totally lost interest in non-nlockchain-based gaming in 2019. One of my favorite games was Real Racing 3... now is SPLINTERLANDS
