Trickle To A Flood Plan: Cub Edition

This is the fifth update to my Trickle To A Flood Plan. The tl;dr; version of my plan was to earn free crypto and then use that crypto to trade on $hitcoins hoping to hit it big on one or more under the radar alt coins. I have since moved away from trading $hitcoins and started to move towards investing in passive income sources.

It has been a crazy month for me in the crypto world but also crazy good. My trickle of crypto income has continued to grow and took a nice bump up thanks to clubdefi.com and #cub farming.

Cryptocurrency Sources

Here are the main sources I've been working the last couple of months.

Farming
Farming Cub at CubDefi has become my biggest source of crypto income in just the few weeks it has been alive. I have been farming cub on the CUB-BUSD farm for the last couple of weeks. As my first venture into the defi world I had a lot to learn, but thanks to the "how to" posts here on LeoFinance and I was able to work it all out. I was starting to sweat when CUB hit the < $2 mark, but I continued to harvest and add LP. Most of my earnings are also being invested in Cub farming. Love the power of compounding, and with nearly 500% APY that compounding happens fast.

Blogging
Blogging on HIVE has been ok for me this past month. I started a daily giveaway on my gaming account @playbyhive which is earning a few bucks per day for me. But with my focus on CubDefi I haven't been very good about posting on LeoFinance which was probably been dumb as for weeks it seemed any post with the word #CUB in it was earning big.

I have been excited to see several new tribes popping up and have been trying to build stakes in them early on. #Music4Life is a great new tribe that I see being very successful as it fills a great niche. #CineTV, and #ProofOfBrain are also new tribes I'm paying attention too. CineTV also could fill a niche, and ProofOfBrain is just a cool project.

Mining
My wimpy DIY miner continues to mine me a little bit of ETH each day. I bit the bullet and replaced the 4GB card I had installed with an 8GB graphics card. It is currently earning me around $3+ per day depending on ETH prices and difficulty levels.

Cloud Mining
My Cloud Mining saga continues with DualMine. I'm still not sure if it will be the best or worst of my crypto investments. Just when I had written it off as a waste, they have made another change that "could" fix the problem they had. They had created their own ERC-20 token (CRT) and were paying out in that. But when the ETH gas fees went crazy high they started slowing down payments. But just this week they announced they had created a TRC-20 token. Still very much on the fence but feel better about it since they keep trying to fix issues rather than just pulling the rug out from everyone. I'm not counting on this working out, and hope to be pleasantly surprised if it does.

Playing Games
I'm playing a few HIVE based games and am earning a buck or two per day which isn't bad for just playing games.

I am enjoying Splinterlands a lot. I've decided to start putting my DEC back into the game to try and get to a higher level. I'm still stuck at Bronze I but want to get to Silver to double my chances in the daily quests. It is a slow go right now but at least I have a game plan to get there.

My dCity has grown a bit the last month but with high taxes the SIM earnings are way down. I alternate between selling the SIM and buying new properties. With the release of the Third Edition, there was a momentary spike in SIM prices but it didn't last. I thing @gerber should reconsider the tax and move away from being based on SIM/HIVE prices and move to a SIM/$ rate. The increase in HIVE value seems to be one of the main drivers of these crazy tax rates (it hit >100% last week!). Most of the other games I'm playing are seeing the same decrease in prices against HIVE but are pegged more to the $ than the price of HIVE.

I am playing a lot of Rising Star lately. I made it to level 40 not long ago and now have a couple of high paying gigs I can do to earn #Starbits. About 1/3 of my daily earnings go into buying cards for my daily giveaway, 1/3 into cards for me, and 1/3 gets cashed out to buy HIVE.

Trading Crypto
I had built a small bit of crypto to start playing with trading $shitcoins. It has actually been fairly successful having hit many doubles and even a few quadruples. But I started funneling trading earnings to CubDefi to farm more CUB.

I have also realized that the exchange I had been using SUCKS (Probit) and has low trading volumes. I am going to start using Binance now that I have managed to get an account setup up.

Interest
I had been puting all my ETH mining earnings into a BlockFi account earning 5 1/4 percent (in ETH) APY. However, I took all my BlockFi holdings to fund my CubDefi. Was worried I made a mistake at first as the price of CUB was dropping, but feel it was a good move now.

Results So Far

I have been at this since about August last year. At that time I had zero cryptocurrency. I did stray from my "all free" approach and have invested close to $1000 for GPU cards ($500), HIVE ($100), LEO ($300), cloud mining contract ($250).

I am now holding around $3000 in crypto and have built several forms of passive earnings that will continue to earn me cryptocurrency into the future (which will all be reinvested for a few more years). My trickle has grown to close to $10 per day before blogging earnings. Certainly not life changing money for me (yet) but it hopefully will continue to grow and in a few years be a nice little addition to my retirement income.
