This will be the 5th season I'm blogging about my personal betting activity on the Belgian league making previews on pretty much all matches which include bets that I'm taking followed by a weekly report when I'm breaking down my results. This during both the good and the bad times since it is all mainly a tool for myself to stay sharp and disciplined. So far each of the seasons ended with reasonably good profit and I'm planning for this to be the case again this season. Past results however and no guarantee for future results and trying to follow will always put you one step behind so do this at your own risk and with caution.
What I can say for sure is that anyone who actually aims to become a profitable Sports Bettor can learn a lot from what I am doing and the overall approach that I take. Discipline, Work Ethic, and keeping it all real also during the bad times is I would say at least 80% of what makes someone profitable in the long run. Every preview post has a warning banner with the following text:
That being said, the first week of the new season was actually really fun with a lot of great matches and some really good overall profit. I certainly can't complain about luck with many late goals going my way even though I would also still have liked the bets in case they would have lost. I'm still searching a bit as I increased what represents a 1 unit stake this season by 60% since I can easily handle it bankroll-wise. I tend to have a hard time pulling the trigger on a bet all at once, so I usually get in over multiple smaller positions pre-game and during the match. I still need to find the right balance though as I do feel my initial unit sizing is still too low at the moment. I'm sure I'll figure it all out as I go along.
Pre-Game Preview Bets
Similar to last season, I will put some of the pre-game bets that I took as bold selections in the previews that I'm writing tracking the results with 1 unit flat stakes.
Last season (See Final Results Post there were 236 of these selection which produced a whopping +30.594 units profit good for +12.96% ROI
I don't expect this season to come nearly close to this as I clearly ran way above the expectations (I don't believe I'm that good). Some regression to the mean is always possible and there is no clear pattern between pre-game and live bets over the seasons aside from that they have been overall profitable over the years.
For week 1 (including the Super Cup match), I had 7 bets in total which showed an overall profit of +0.765 units so I'm off to a good start. I will continue to keep track of them in these weekly results roundups.

Similar to each season, the chart of the first week is pretty irrelevant since there is no volume whatsoever. this causes the pink expected line and the actual blue profit line. +1.747 Units profit is pretty nice to have for the first week (calculated in the units of last season that is 2.79). The overall goal is to be able to put in more overall volume this season hopefully not getting crushed on it.
