Time For Change

This was sports yesterday or last night to be more precise with a 20 percent rise out of nowhere and something I think we will see a lot more of next year. There is so much scope it can only go up I believe and that is not only unique to sports, but for all the tribes who want to succeed. Communities need to roll up their sleeves and become active otherwise it could be a long road to nowhere. Things don't just happen as Leo have proven over the last 6 months.

I was discussing this earlier with someone on Hive as if you are invested in a project with large stake then it is in your own interest to get involved. The idea of holding a large bag of nothing is not that appealing and it is firmly up to the communities to make things happen. At the end of the day it is on your shoulders if something succeeds or not and a test of how badly you want it to happen.

Obviously I have an interest in sport having played various forms over the years so this tribe needs to succeed for others that will arrive making sure their is a home for them on Hive. There is nothing worse than struggling to find something that interests you and having just to fit into something else. Sports is big and needs to work as we have no choice as it is a key cog for Hive in the years to come. Loads needs to happen from now till then and I see it as fun and not a challenge.

Sometimes I feel like it is like insider trading knowing what we know and what is about to happen. I know we have a developer on board and others waiting in the wings to transform the site bringing it up to date. Earlier this month we moved to linear curation after seeing the success that Leo was having with engagement as it was a no brainer.

The contacts I have in the sporting world are vast dotted all over the globe, but honestly the site is not ready to invite them in with how it is currently. You know how contacts in sports work as they all know someone bigger than them and finally you end up with the stars who is a friend of a friend. Some sportsmen I know are household names or were when they were current and at their prime and are only a phone call away. I see no reason why a block chain with earning potential with loads of fun attached would not inspire them to sign up.

It takes one or two names to suddenly bring in mass onboarding and that is my plan of attack. Shoot for the stars and see what comes as some will. One of my old team mates coaches the Sri Lankan Cricket team right now and hope he stays in the job long enough giving the sports community time to complete a new front end at least. I am sure amongst everyone on Hive we must know some sports personalities as 10 000 or 15000 users is a wide network to investigate. Contacting sports people or anyone really is not easy unless you have a way to reach them via someone who knows them. There is one contact I am currently working on who knows every sports star in the world as he is the main force behind the Laureus Award Foundation. This will take time as I have to use contacts to get to him and wont be that easy. Why waste time when one tweet from him will make them all jump and pay attention as he is that important.

Where there is a will there is a way and see this as my next pet project to help see things through. The shift into cryptocurrency is happening at a very fast rate and selling the idea of joining Hive or a tribe is far easier than what it was 2 years ago. By June next year it should be even easier and gives us time to get things ready. A lot needs to happen, but there is nothing stopping us from making this work.
