The basic misconception was that you assumed you can write down a number and spend it on training to make yourself competetive in the running season. Not for the top half of LoC. Buying 1 million hive worth of trainings does not make your players better than the competition because all you can reach is the training cap. Those teams are fielding players that reached (came real close to) the cap a few seasons ago and experienced a few end-of-season improvements since then. Buying such players (if you can find any) is the only fast lane option at this level.

Yeah you are right - the issue really is to train young talent to the max while you have older player near their maximum - only solution is youth team but not another one for me.
