It's Not Just Numbers Game. There's a Thing Called "Luck"

A thing called luck.png

In most of the game between numbers, it's not always who has bigger statistics wins. If sheer luck hits the losing side, it's more than heartbreak. Oftentimes games like that are the most upsetting ones.

In fact, if you look at Cadiz FC in La Liga this season they've been mostly upsetting big teams after big teams. Their historic wins against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were some of the proofs that it isn't just about numbers, luck is part of it.

They say to succeed, it's about 99% perspiration and 1% luck. It seemed to be true for most of the time. If luck isn't with you, no matter how many shots and possessions you own it won't give you the results you wanted.

Dice betting is another classic example, the Hi-Lo game that I've been hooked with recently. I actually stopped playing because I've been hit by very bad luck. Five >94 hits in six rolls. My strategy is simple, accumulate EPC tokens and take advantage of the losing bet at a low cost. For example, I'll be betting 1 Hive at <95 until a loss comes and bet 25 Hive after the loss. Of course, you can change a bit that style as it can become profitable. I accumulated 1.6 million EPC tokens because of that strategy w/ little to no losses. Five >94 hits in 6 rolls are just so unlucky and statistically, it will only come once in a blue moon.

In Rabona, it's the Same Feeling

When you look at this match, it's very obvious I'd actually be winning. A 4-2-2 formation against 4-2-3-1 has 1.25 bigger odds winning the latter formation. I can say I scouted that user perfectly and I have players with higher overall strength.

As you take a look at my match against altcoinsworld.com, you can see that I've dominated the match and obviously you'll be convinced that I should've won the game. When you look at the numbers, everything is one-sided. Take a look at the statline:

  • Ball Contacts: 113/85
  • Dribblings: 31/11
  • Passes: 64/58
  • Shots 10/4
  • Shots on goal: 6/2
  • Pass ratio: 86%/57%
  • Shot ratio: 60%/50%

For others who might not have known, Rabona is a football managerial game on top of Hive blockchain. RBN, as its native currency will be traded soon and as per @rondras and @oliversmind, the market is on 80% completion. Soon, RBN will be traded and people can now exchange their RBN or purchase RBN from another player.

The game of luck was also the reason why I collapsed in Season 2 and lost to FC Marvi on the top position. I was actually leading 4 points with only a few games remaining to end the season. Then the disappointing losses happened and I ended up second. Obviously, it was FC Marvi who got promoted to League 2.

For you to get promoted, you need to finish your current league 1st. The promotion system is explained below:

For you to get to the League of Champions, you need to finish 1st in League 1, 2, and 3

As It Stands

Right now, I'm sitting first in the current season. I only have 4 points ahead so I'm not confident that I'll make it through. Those 2 losses of mind were disappointing and I can only sigh from above when you know you lose. It's been my 3rd season and I'm still stuck at league 3, I hope this will be my time to get promoted.

Of course, if you advance to League it is obvious that you'll be facing the champions of league 3 respectively so the competition there is very high. How much if you'll go in League 1 and even in the League of Champions (LoC)? It could even go crazier.

One of the best things, when you go into higher leagues, is that it provides better RBN earning to your team. Ticket prices will go up and you'll gain a huge fan base. Aside from the huge RBN earnings, you'll get from the home matches, you'll also get a potential payout in Hive as there will be a dividend share I believe to the teams on top.

I'm looking forward to taking part in that. You should play too or your friend who is a football fanatic.

In Rabona, four points ahead is nothing to be confident about at all cos anything can happen at any time and you see yourself at the second or third position. 🤣That is why I so much love the game. Unpredictable and tension grabs

Luck matters. But you have to work your way with luck not just stick with it.
