Rising Star - Millionaire Inflation?

So now, there were a new set of rules being applied to Rising Star. Rising Star used to be a super lucrative game with high amount of yield when you invest well. Nevertheless, with the newest introduction of more stringent rules, the price of Starbits have plummeted ridiculously since introduction.

If you have missed out on the article, here is the link

https://peakd.com/hive-195370/@risingstargame/changes-to-the-starbits-millionaire-mission

In short, the number of Millionaire Mission that can be completed by the user is dependent on the number of fans that you have. The calculation is as shown below.

1000 + (100 x number of Starbits Millionaire missions you have run).

With this introduction, many investors that are nesting over the Millionaire card do not find this lucrative anymore, and exited the game. This thus dented the prices, with the price of Starbits dipping from 0.0003 to approximately 0.0001.

Being a Starbits Millionaire myself, it is painful to see the hard earned currency lose its value over a period of mere days/weeks. While the post promised that players who are playing as per intended to will not be affected, the fact that the currency has dipped so much is in a way itself, affecting the players.

While the game is excellent and I will continue to support this project, the question is. Will the developers of @risingstargame be doing anything to bring the game back to its former glory? Or will this game fade off and join the ranks of Axie Infinity.

I too am considering leaving. I've always been a low investment player and this game was a good source of reinvestment funds for Splinterlands and RSG. All of my assets in RSG were purchased from game profits. I'm hoping it'll pick up but I'm about ready to walk away to be honest.

Hello @holdeck , thank you so much for popping by! Yea, but the question now seems to be. I assume that you would have bought your Starbits since you are an investment player. If you were to sell now and leave, you would lose 2/3 of your capital.

Alternatively we can hold and pray that prices soar back again, but I am not sure if the developers have anything in mind to protect us players.

True, but I am starting to wonder where it goes from here.

I am not massively invested so it’s not a big loss at all. But I currently consider it lost.

Yes, it is a lost even for me. Truth be told, I chucked a lot of my assets into starbits just for this. It’s a huge disappointment, and I hope the developers can do something about it. The intention was to drive the investors away. But at this rate, it’ll drive the players away as well man

I think that in the short run this has a massive downward push on the price of starbits, but in the long run this change is good for the sustainability of the game as a whole. Once the people who have been abusing the starbits millionaire card are out the price will probably recover.

@nevashia , agreed! Well this seems to be the typical "hold" phase. I’m definitely here for the long run so makes no difference to me. Just that I have some plans for the use of starbits, so it can be a bit disruptive and now I need to go back to the drawing blocks and think of avenues to get it solved again! Haha.
