Eupen was the better team yesterday but had again major issues to actually finish their chances as I mentioned in my preview. I kept my discipline and managed to get a small winning corners bet in during the first half which was about it. I do feel I'm picking up some confidence again and hope to add to this in the 4 matches that will be played today...
Zulte-Waregem vs Waasland
Zulte-Waregem didn't take a good start and are last in the league after losing at home against Genk (Despite playing a good 1st half) and taking the deserved away loss against Beerschot. They have a good team on paper but somehow always manage to screw up and concede goals. Waasland took a surprise win against Kortrijk (Who showed not to be all that good yesterday). Last week they lost against Standard in a match where they played defensively trying to break out on the counter which worked in the 1st half but failed in the 2nd half. Against Kortrijk, they played more forward and looked vulnerable in the defense at times. So where does this leave me betting wise, there is no way I can take a -0.75 line on Zulte-Waregem pre-game just based on the fact they they should win because they have more quality in their team. I at least need to see them putting an ok performance and a -0.5 @ 2.0 line for that. The league has been very heavy on 2nd half goals (77.12% of goals with an average of 2.06 goals) which was also seen elsewhere. 2nd half goals and possibly late goals (especially of Zulte is behind) is what I will mostly be looking at in-game to bet. OH Leuven vs Charleroi
OHL is suffering a lot of important injuries but their coach managed to make his team play good in defense last week away against Genk which is a match they should have won as they were denied a clear 100% penalty last week. Charleroi looks to be the same as last season in that they are an excellent counter team who often will end up winning their matches with a 1 goal difference. So far this season they won 0-1 away and 1-0 at home. Looking at their results last season away against non-top teams it shows these results however 1-1 | 1-1 |1-1 | 3-1 | 0-4 | 0-3 | 0-1 | 2-2 | 1-3. So only 1 outright loss and quite a lot of goals so the -0.75 away & 2.75 total line makes a lot of sense. Looking at the corners in these matches, they have an average of 11.5 with a 54-50 advantage for the home teams. If Charleroi scores the first goal, I'll likely go for OHL on the corners handicap (right now line is set at +1.5). Again on this one

KV Mechelen vs Cercle Brugge
Mechelen played an excellent 1st half at home in the first week against Anderlecht with a lot of motivation and drive as if the stadium was full of fans. They did, however, have issues when it comes down to creating actual chances and last years their total number of goals was rather flattering based on the chances. Last week they faced a defensive Moeskroen and needed a penalty to score. So Mechelen has enough drive in their team but lacks some quality on the attack. Cercle lost 1-0 away against a poor Standard and took a surprise 2-1 win against a poor Antwerp. They also seem to have a hard time finding the goal despite scoring twice last week (1st was a deflected ball, 2nd was a very late counter. Looking at last season results from Mechelen at home as favorite against we see 3-1 | 2-2 | 1-2 | 0-2 | 1-1 | 1-0 | 4-0 results going 30-40 in corners. As much as I like to take a bet on Mechelen or on them to win the corners race in the 1st half, I have to stay away from it and wait it out live in-game.

FC Antwerp vs AA Gent
Both these teams took a bad start in the league when it comes down to the quality they managed to show on the pitch. Antwerp had their best performance in the cup where they had a defensive counter-style approach. AA Gent had a coach change this week with Boloni (Previous Antwerp coach) who is now in charge. This should give a tactical advantage as he knows Antwerp very well. his style is more on result-oriented and he already stated that they will play more in block. This is pretty much what I expect from this match at least at the start focussing on keeping the opponents to score not taking all too many risks in defense. I took a good-sized pre-game position on
1st Half under 1 @ 2.085 as the average price I managed to get and I will see where it goes in-game.
